Remember the thread. "Only in Wushu - The Most Epic MMORPG Night Ever."?
"Tell me another game, where you can go from crafting darts to put in your shop, to 4 Votes shy of Faction Leader.
That's all I was doing, making darts in preparation for the week ahead. My guild learder asked if any Tangmen wanted to join the School Meeting. School meeting is a tournament in whcih Deacons, Elders, and the School Headmaster are chosen. 3 rounds, then a Vote."
3 Weeks later I am now Tangmen Head Master. The leader of Tangmen.
Over the past 3 weeks, a political plan was executed. Starting with the jailing, before school war of the person who beat me in my original thread. 3 weeks of increasing my visibility in school chat buy helping new Tangmen. Giving out XP pills, teaching little Tangs how to rob carts so that they could earn their own XP pills, and giving darts to the young ones who couldn't afford them.
I fought my way through the School Tournament the first time. Top 3 kills the first round. Last three standing the second round, Last 3 standing in the Elder. Killing the last Elder, earning the chance to be voted on.
This time I only needed to fight in the 3rd round. There was no need for me to take the risk until then. At that point I was attacked by my friend, and big Sister, Empress Wu. Was this treachery? Did we get our signals crossed? I choose to believe it was a lack of communication. I fended her off for nearly 2 minutes. Three others died. Let the final round begin.
In an incredible move Empress Wu, dueled the 3rd Elder and killed him. This left us two standing. This is where we were the first week I had entered. Unlike the first time, Wu and I did not fight. Wu left the arena, I was declared the Victor. Let the voting begin.
The Head Master Shinon, at the time, was a good player, and a good person. A Tangmen who has mastered the Royal Guard Claw, hidden weapon technique. I've seen her do amazing things. Even though we are from rival guilds, I consider her a friend.
As the night went on, and the votes started coming in, I could tell early on it was going to be very close. Shinon made sure she stayed visible in school chat, answering questions, and even organizing team cultivation practice. Her shiny title of "Master" was getting her votes every time she spoke. This was my original idea, unfortunately I no longer had my shiny Deacon title (it was removed during the voting process), I couldn't compete with her in the visibility race. I was down 9 votes with 20 minutes to go.
My luck changed. Someone in school chat asked what are school treasures. Quickly Shinon answered, then said there are no more school treasure to take. There was my opening, a difference between our leadership philosophy. I said "There are treasures to take. Tangmen is strong." Due to Shinon's guild alliances, which were in control of ally schools, she could not give Tangmen a chance to fight for more treasure. A vote for Shinon was a vote for no war.
I seized the opportunity. A vote for me was a vote for Tangmen strength! A vote for Tangmen to choose our aliiles, not be chosen by guild alliances. I hammered that message for the next 20 minutes. I surged. I won the vote by 16.
I am now Tangmen Head Master. Will I be able to give Tangmen war, and victory? I will have to forge a new alliance. Stay tuned. This weekend should be fun!

It's exactly what happened lol. I left a lot out too.
Things like this happen in Age of Wushu. Idk, they game is wide open, all rules are very soft. Most are more guidelines that rules.
People think of some wild stuff, most the time I'm just happy to be apart of it.
That is what makes AOW fun. You can do stuff like this. You could do all that stuff in SWG, by the way, it is just that the player and the guild had to put in a lot of work. In AOW, there are some game mechanics that you have to take into account.
However, AOW is not going anywhere anytime soon. The main problems of the game still remain.
-Awful translation from Chinese to English makes it a complicated game to understand. Whether or not the game is complex is not the issue, the language translation behind the game is the root of the problem.
-Snail Games is a VERY shady company. There are many posts on the official forums that can further detail what goes on behind the scenes.
-Lag effectively kills the game as it is a twitch based combat where skill does matter. If you are lagging more than your opponent(s) you are in a bad way,
-The game "feels" like it is just there to take more money out of your pocket. You can say that about any game, but in this game I always get the feeling that it is a giant sham....
I guess I'm lucky not to have your issues. I just get he fun
this feels more like work or a job than a game.
and i have to agree with koboldfodder
looking past/ignoring those problems won't make em disappear.
Yeah, time invested does = reward. It is more of a Virtual world than the mmos we've been getting. Work hard, reap the reward. Hop on and play, enjoy the ride.
The "problems" koboldfodder spoke of don't play a role in my game play, or most others for that matter. They're not like the issues Neverwinter, or DF:UW is having. No duping, no ddos attacks.
Lag for some that live overseas 150-400 ms normal for them if they have leatrix, or wtffast, I live in Michigan. I haven't needed customer service, and I've made a bunch of ding off crafting and stealing scripts. I just don't have his issues. I'm sure some do, but most don't.
Sounds fun... congrats by the way.
It is not exaggerated. This was the culmination of over a month of planning on my part and many others - not even related to the Tangman school.
I'm VERY pleased to see that bcbully finally made it, a few weeks to have been particularly awesome - but I will take what is given!
Even though I'm no longer a headmaster, had to resign for various real life reasons, I'm looking forward to getting some work done this weekend. Sorry I was unable to be in-game to actually witness this.
If there are ANY questions on school war execution/mechanics, you know where to come.
You could always....not participate in this piece of the game. It's actually not that big of a deal to those that don't care about it.
There are MANY other events that don't rely on intrigue or politics. If there was ever a "sandbox" element of the game it's the choice you have as to what you immerse yourself in and how far you wish to immerse yourself into those elements.
Interesting, so shinobi now controls tangmen, but I have to ask if you think you can hold your promises to made to the school?
Will you win all of your wars and do you plan to take the treasure from whoever you are facing?
That is how i feel when i read his posts about this game. He does try hard though.
You do realize that this alliance goes well beyond Shinobi - right? That's why this alliance is going to be so strong - we have a united front across several guilds. Yes, he will hold the promises. There are some serious bones to pick, and potentially a very public shaming of a select few leaders that have repeatedly shown how incompetent they have been at leading. I have total trust in bcbully and fully support his leadership of Tangman.
The only way we aren't steam rolling this week is if we lose the click wars (aka dumbest function in Wushu).
Going to be a good week in Wushu.
Congrats BC, sounds like you played your hand well. There is nothing like a successful political campaign in a game. I remember the elation after staying awake until 6am to ensure I got the final council vote needed to get my independent pirate character voted in as president.
Enjoy your short time in the sun, make sure you don't look back thinking "I wish I hadn't let them persuade me not to do that". Triumph or Disaster, the important thing is to be remembered for the scale of your ambition.
Awesome.
I know who you are now!
BCbully could probably make a race between two snails across a sidewalk sound epic
...no he isn't. I personally find the writing he does about this game to be pretty entertaining.
Writing about the Wars this weekend now. with video for the hater.
His only mistake in that post was starting it off once again selling the game rather than just diving into the awesome chain of events that lead to his seat in the throne. It is a rather epic tale. He just ruined it by starting off by challenging people rather than just relaying his story.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

point taken.
The freedom block is on the attack. The vietblock is scrambling to defend.
I don't like these terms, but that's how the factions have broken down on BLueDragon. The West on one side, The Viets on the other, with the Chinese floating between.
We almost too the Vietblocks most prised treasure from Emei lastnight. Emei, Wudang, and Scholars held with their leader at 1%.
Epic battle lead by the Hannibal of Age of Wushu, Feedz., out numbered 2-1.Feedz is the headmaster of Wanderer's Valley. A truly brilliant Wpvp general.
