Grinding Gears has announced a collaborative effort with Jinx to bring Path of Exile users new supporter packs from which to choose. The team solicited input from the community to create new packs for players who have only recently arrived to the game.
The most important change is that J!NX is producing our physical merchandise! The collaboration allows us to offer exciting new physical merchandise that we can't produce ourselves, such as a keychain based on the Chaos Orb currency item. We were also able to put T-Shirts in the first of the shipped packs, rather than at the $250 tier like last time. We're expecting that shipping will be underway in early August!
Check out the full details on the Path of Exile site.

Somebody, somewhere has better skills as you have, more experience as you have, is smarter than you, has more friends as you do and can stay online longer. Just pray he's not out to get you.
That's where they get most of their news :P
diablo 3 had 5 or even 50 times the budged and came out terrible with a big majority we're not happy while path of exile get funded by the gamers and people are quiet happy so far.
budget do not make the game better or bigger , it takes dedication
Wish I had no life and money to waste like some of these people, Though even if I was in such a position, I'd think I'd waste money on better things.
It doesn't matter if the game is almost finished. They are trying to continue development after it is done and released. More content, updates, patches, things like that. If people are willing to buy these packs to support further development then no it isn't being a big fool, it's supporting a company to continue development. Plus that's a smart idea, secure some resources so after it's launched if the cash shop stagnates in terms of gross income for them, then they can still have money to pay people to further the development.
Games I've played/tried out:WAR, LOTRO, Tabula Rasa, AoC, EQ1, EQ2, WoW, Vangaurd, FFXI, D&DO, Lineage 2, Saga Of Ryzom, EvE Online, DAoC, Guild Wars,Star Wars Galaxies, Hell Gate London, Auto Assault, Grando Espada ( AKA SoTNW ), Archlord, CoV/H, Star Trek Online, APB, Champions Online, FFXIV, Rift Online, GW2.
Game(s) I Am Currently Playing:
GW2 (+LoL and BF3)
I posted my response to this in a older thread, but for the sake of voicing my concern and the possibility of the other thread getting buried/locked I'll post my response again here:
Honestly I'm more offended by the expectations of the developers than the acceptance of the few defenders here. It really sends a clear message of just how superficial developers think their most avid supporters are. Where's the trip to meet the team? The handcrafted limited addition swag? No you get a bunch of useless digital and real trinkets. Oh...and a copy of the model of the monster you designed which they would have to make anyway seeing as they are probably gonna need one to nail down it's design to begin with.
Developers have been using design-a-monster contest for YEARS to offer it's fanbase and now they're making them pay for it....nice. They really don't think much of you if they think they can buy you off with a box full of digital and trivial garbage. A more classy act would have been to simply suggest on their website that if you would like to give more to show your support contact us at yada, yada, yada. But if they think gamers nowadays are about nothing more than showboating and oneupsmanship then who am I to stand in the way of progress? Just don't get irritated when a batch of shrewd gamers start to demands more for shelling out that kind of dough and that useless swag slowly starts to turn into real items of advantage in-game. I mean who are you to stop progression right? If players are paying that much just to showboat now, where to you think the line will eventually be drawn?
Like I said, the better route would have been to offer a package to come meet the team for some one-on-one time with them, that way they can take pictures, sign autographs and really get to know the gamers that are supporting them, you know give that lucky gamer some real memories to hold onto, rather than turning this into a digital fundraiser with very little personal contact.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.
Great team, great game, but either they didn't know what it would cost to run their game or they're greedy. My money is on the former. I predict this is just the first of many hobbyist-level indies that are going to pull this.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

The 12.K is less 'give me 12.5' and more 'well I'm not giving 12.5K...but I guess I can cough up $50'.
It's sales ploy. If they sell one, cool but they generally don't expect to. It does however net more people at the lower numbers. Psych-o-logy.
I found PoE enjoyable for a day or two but then got bored quickly. Glad a lot of folks are enjoying it though.
You can be the best in the game by paying exactly $0
Nothing you buy makes you level faster, hit harder, or live longer
With that criteria in place I dont care at all about how much packs are.
I will probably at some point buy a tee-shirt or two.
I thank anyone who can afford any size pack to help support the game development. This dev team is very transparent with their goals and honestly care about making a fun arpg.
You can be the best in the game for free....... wtf are people complaining about?
Actually there are some Diamond supporters (1K) who bought 4 or 5 support packages. That's 4 or 5 grand so it may be possible someone out there is going to Pony up 12k.
I dont think they have ever called it a MMO, they call it an online action rpg.
Plus its a lot more than jsut a diablo clone and prob one of the best ARPG games I have played in a very long time.
Yes you can play this game for $0 as long as you want but i would say to anyone who enjoys the game, do your bit and support these guys..
Also its not like they are forcing people to spend 12.5k on the top tier its an option and thats all.. if someone wants to pay that then let them..
