I don't understand why these types of games keep being created? There is no depth, sloppy combat, and pointless leveling. I give props to the devs for working on their skills and creating a game... but what for? This is going to end up in the pile with the rest of them.

Holding down a button to repeatedly attack has to be the worst idea ever.

Yeah I feel the same way about the game mechanics. As to why they keep getting made I can only guess.

Some games are pumped out because companies see a window of opportunity where they think they can make some money. There are always going to be great games made (like them or not) where players invest time and money followed by stagnant periods in the market where games like this are pumped out. All in hopes of getting some players to switch and get a quick fix.

Most people know there is no longevity to DP, or any game like it but it might be okay for someone young and new to mmorpg's.

Because people enjoy them enough so devs can make living out of it. Simple as that.

I see so much complaining on these forums I think that is all people know how to do now. It's like, oh instead of being constructive on a forum of a game I like... Ill go onto forums of games I don't like and complain. Is the OP srs? Anyways it's a f2p game, pretty dumb to complain about something that is given to you for free and only have to pay for 'extras' if you like it.

I like what the Devs have done in DP, its honestly got more innovation then anything Ive seen in the last 10 yrs.

The combat is pretty unique, with the combo click system

The pet system is fun and completely unique

RNG is actually something in this game, in both the dragons and the loot.

It reminds me of a FUNCOM game, you know something that has great and unique ideas, just fails to deliver somewhat.

sure its a linear quest hub jumping game, but I'm tired of bitching about everything, I just play and have fun.

Its definitely better then that garbage Nevermind err Neverwinter, and to me its better then GW2 and TERA

AngryJoe recently did a vid on DP,  it was still in Beta, so there were a few problems, but tbh, the gameplay itself was very generic, if anyone is even thinking of playing the game then might want to go check out Angry Joe on youtube, looking at the vid, it kind of struck home just how many of these games there are, and with Sony's station cash store being tied in with the game (pay station cash to resurrect on the spot!) then it wouldnt surprise me if the F2P bubble did burst sometime soon.

Holding only 1 key and doing nothing else makes me think you are a noob. I gave this game a spin and I think the combat is amazing from the viewpoint of a guardian. You roll you dodge you blink and do combos for extra damage, you counter on parry if you have the relfexes. The first dungeon is really hard and if you go there below level 10 (as I did) you will need some skill to beat the encounters). Massive AoE and big juicy numbers is always fun, come on :U

When I petted my first dragon I was like *_________*

not only that, it let me mount it :UU or use it combat. THAT is amazing. I personally rate this game a lot better than Neverwinter. Yes the interface is a lot more weird but the game plays nice and IS fun.

P.S: @Myrdynn I wouldn't go as far as stating its better than Gw2 :P They have a lot of work to do before going there. Their forum is full of technical issues. Even though I play it nice on my gaming rig, my girlfriend gets 10 FPS on lowest of settings on a PC that plays Gw2 with 50-60 FPS and Skyrim and ton of other games. But yeah the game IS obviously a beta unlike Nevermind's (HAH!) excuse to have clumsy game, so I'll let this one slide and rate the game good enough. It is fun

regarding GW2, I was talking fun and innovation.  GW2 is flawlessly smooth, but boring as hell imo

The way dragons are handled give the game tons of complexity but it's not all apparent at first.  The number of dragon skills for instance and the random aspect of it makes choosing which dragons to keep, which ones to put to work gathering for crafts, and which ones to take into battle a complex decision.  Even leaving stats behind, the various dragon soul skills, gear slotting, and class masteries make creating one's own playstyle feasible and is a big part of the fun.  There are some samey elements to the game that we've seen before and the questing is ripped from 2008 but there is some substance to be found after more than a few hours of gameplay.

Game designers listen to games failing not the forums , not supporting bad products is what they listen to, not people venting on the forums

It sure is, but then the concept of combos seems to have eluded you.

It's weird to see people bash this game given the demand for sandbox-esque games these days.

DP offers player housing, open non-instanced world, non-target combat, combos, fairly decent crafting system, etc. All things people whine about themepark games not having.

It even has unique character customization. I've created an Oracle (non tank, melee dps) and tamed dragons to give me a taunt skill, powerful self heal, a HP self buff and a poison cloud attack that blinds enemies for a short time. All that in addition to talent trees and assignable stat points....

Game definitely needs A LOT of polish and a way better tutorial, but it's got some great features.

I've probably played MMOs older than that line. People don't agree with you, that's life, if you feel the need for people to agree with you on the spot might I suggest getting into politics and getting to the top of the pecking order?
