Just wanted to say that I have been a big fan since Morrowind. I have got many of my friends into the series and I am a huge supporter of the ES series. I consider myself a big time loyal fan and I dont want to sound like a bitch about it but I demand to be treated like a important fan or customer . I am tired of not being picked for beta. I signed up for beta when sign ups first started and filled out the stupid reasons on why I should be picked for beta plus sent my PC specs. I feel like I wasted my time because just 10 minutes ago I decided to try again with a different email and I found out all the questions are now gone. Now all you have to do is send your email. You dont even need to send your PC info now. Thanks for wasting my time. I have two PCs that can run the game easy and I would say there is a 90% chance of me getting a xbox one and a 50% chance I may buy a ps4 as well. If I dont get picked for beta I have decided that my loyalty means shit (espically when you pick people for beta who make a bad video of your game and post it up on the net for all to see) and that there is a 0% chance I will pick up TESO for my PC or any systems I get. I hate checking my emails and finding nothing. Wish I would just get an email saying that I will never get picked for beta if that be the case. Worst part is I am so loyal of a fan that if the game was to be lame and it had a monthly charge I would pay it just because thats how loyal I am and thats what pisses me off the most. Yes I hate to say it but I know I deserve to play beta. So I am making my stand and if I dont get picked soon I am leaving TESO behind before it even starts. I am finding out loyalty dont mean shit these days. Does buying a ps4 get you into beta? Its all bs to me now. Like I said I hope people reading this dont think I am bitching or complaing I am just standing my ground on what is fair and what is not. I still dont fully understand on how they decide on who gets picked and who dont but I wont stand for not being picked any longer. Thats all I gotta say. Unless they gave a real good reason to why people like myself dont get a chance because I am just tired of being left in the dark. So if any one at Zenimax or Bethesda see this I demand a answer. Then again I am sure you will get your millions with or without me. Just needed to get that off my chest.

This describes in detail what you have to exactly do!
Well that is why I said "mostly". In other words, hundreds if not thousands likely meet the requirements, beyond that I am pretty sure the selection would have to be random.
I doubt there is anything so specific that would make it not random.

That could be a very likely case as well. Though I never understood the reason why guild leaders and such have higher priority. They always seem to be held at a higher level then those who do not own a guild. It only bothers me because it isn't exactly special to be a guild leader. It's actually a pain in the butt most of the time if you actually run it right. Tons of work.
Most well established guilds tend to be the over populated guilds where the guild leader actually doesn't do anything at all. The members usually are not anything special either.
They do require you to send in information about you and your system. I had to fill out all sorts of info with my application.
They want a dxdiag report of you system so that they have a wide range of systems to choose from and to test how the game runs on certain specs. This should be an obvious request as pc's range in power and capability.
Listing the games one has beta tested on their questionnaire offers an indication of the players experience in testing. Having more beta tests under ones belt will probably bump you up in preference but still not guaranteed to get chosen.
Checking off the MMO's one has played gives an indication of the persons preferred game style and general MMO experience. I would imagine they want players who know a good amount about MMO's, and who know what to look for in a beta to offer constructive feedback and suggestions to make the game better before launch.
Lastly, the "Tell us why you should be in beta" thing at the end is just you selling yourself to the developers. This also gives insight to the players motives and desire to help actually TEST the game, rather than taking the beta as an opportunity to get free play time.
Being a fan of the franchise grants no guarantees of being chosen. As it should not. It may be a plus for them that they have willing testers that love their IP, but it won't be the end-all-be-all in their selection process.
In the end, generally the selection process IS random, but people with preferred experience, play style, and beta testing experience may be selected over other people with differing qualifications for certain beta testing phases, depending on what the test is focusing on.
Many many people get "left in the dark", and are never selected for testing. It's just the nature of the testing phase of a game. Don't get discouraged if you don't get in when you want to, or not at all.
Brand loyalty means nothing. Being their biggest fan ever means nothing. Playing every Elder Scrolls game since the introduction of the IP means nothing. All we can do is just submit our info and hope to be selected. We may have some qualifications that MAY set us apart from other applicants, but it's always best to never get your hopes up. Being selected to a beta will be a pleasant surprise.
Nothing is forced upon you and they certainly do not have to explain anything to you.
like someone else said, if the way you wrote you're demands and complains here is any indication of you're beta application then I think they made a extremely wise choice not letting you in.
When you pay for something you have all rights to complain even if its complete bull to complain about but in a case were they offer you a way to get into a beta whiteout paying anything and you choose to waists 10 precious minutes of you're adult life toward 36 all you should be doing is give a slightly disappointed shrug and do something else..
Because getting a guild "hooked" and involved in the process might get that guild to buy the game and subscribe.
They are essentially getting large chunks of players

No I was very cool and didnt demand anything in my application. I did mention I was a big fan was all on the subject. I do have to disagree with what someone else said though about not selecting a fan. I do believe they should select the fans that have supported the games. I am just a big believer in loyalty. Like I said in the very first post though," I am not complaining". I am more or less hoping someone from the team or who ever is in charge of applications sees my post and contacts me with an invite. Even though I know that wont happen...but I had to give it a shot. Oh and I have paid for many of zenimax games from es to fallout to almost everything in between so yeah I can complain if I wanted. I live in America and we have a right to free speech thank you very much.
Buying every Zenimax/Bethesda game means nothing to the process of selecting testers for a game in beta. Loyalty does not necessarily equal entitlement. You may have paid for many Zenimax published or developed titles, but when it comes to ESO, you paid nothing. So that means you get nothing.
You have the right to free speech, but so do many others. And the person you replied too certainly has that right as well. The whole "I live in America so I can say what I want" is stupid (coming from an American :P). People from all over say what they want here on this forum.
I understand your enthusiasm and deep want to participate in this beta. I enjoy what I have seen so far. This IP holds a place close to my gaming heart. I wold absolutely LOVE to be selected. I too, paid a good amount for the Fallout series and the DLC that came with it. The same goes for the Elder Scrolls. All the titles plus all the DLC's adds up to a lot. But that does not gain me anything as far as ESO goes. I am in the same boat as you or anyone else that applies. We can only wait it out and see.
That is the life of the average beta applicant. Apply, and sit and wait and hope.
In any case, if you don't make it into the beta and you "leave the series behind" because of not getting in, well... that's not a very loyal act to the franchise you've loved for so long now is it?
Pay them money like all the other idiots and your in

have read much past the first paragraph (oh wait there are no paragraphs in the OP's post)
anyways, being a loyal fan shouldnt bring you squat, they already know your gonna buy it regardless, they should reach out to players like myself, who have never played an ES game, and are on the fence with the MMO
It all depends what they are testing. If they want feedback from people new to the franchise, you'd probably be a great candidate.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

Truthfully I may pass because I only have time for one mmo. Will admit I may end up playing because I am a big fan but not getting selected for beta does disapoint me and I may take it as a sign to just stick to my other mmo. Truthfully I am on the fence with you now. As for people on the fence that never played an ES game I think most of you guys are the same guys talking the most shit about the game and you never played it. Why should they select you haters to bash the game more?
Yeah he is right. You would be great in that regard.
In actuality I have never said anything bad about TESO, so dont lump me in that group. I dont play single player games, plain and simple, so they never interested me. The people who seem to talk the most shit from what I have seen, is the hardcore players bitching that its not like the single player stuff.
I actually like alot of the stuff I have read and seen on TESO, and if it werent for my anticipation of EQN, I would probably be more eager for TESO. As I look at it now, if I were to play its only a temporary fix til EQN (if it delivers what is promised).
I know no one is going to believe me when I say this but, I got into the beta and I didn't even sign up for it.
I have no clue how they got my e-mail, I didn't even have an account on their website but I got in and signed up with the key they gave me via that mail.
I seriously couldn't believe it myself.
i have gotten into every beta that i signed up for at some point and it always seems to ruin it for me a little bit so i purposely did not sign up for this one.
to the OP, you may be a diehard fan but this is beta, its not meant to play the game early, its meant to test the game.
if all you want to do is play the game early because you feel you deserve it, its probably best if you don't get in beta that way people who do get in hopefully give it the beta feedback that it needs.
Maybe you have to belong to Mensa.
As an aside...I did a presentation several years ago for a Mensa group in Seattle and if those people are the "cream of the crop" intellectually, then we are in serious trouble as a species.
Dont put words in my mouth. I never said I just want to play the game early because I deserve it. Yes it would be a good chance to try out the game early but it dont mean I wouldnt take my job as a tester seriously. I am sure most people sign up for beta thinking of having that chance of trying out the game early. Its a lie if they say all they truly want to do is just test the game for bugs and not get paid.
