Get it on PS4 & all PC accounts can play on there too.

My girl and I both got this game for PC when it originally came out. That version 1 game was pretty bad.

However, this new game FFXIV: ARR is great, so since we both had the old game already, they give us the new game free.

This means that if we buy the PS4 version also, we can interchangeably play on PC/PS4 and will get a code for a 3rd account also right?

My PC has a GTX 670 and 16GB RAM and great CPU also, so I think it will be better on PC for me, but for her, she only has a GTX560 and 8GB RAM, the PS4 might look better than her PC.

Also, if I want to lay in bed and play on the big TV, I can always play on there.

Win-Win situation is how I see it.

You guys also going to get it on PS4 even if you have PC version already?

You'll have to buy it for PS4 as well. You can use the same account but each client has to be bought separately. So if you wanted to play on PC, PS3, and PS4 you would have to buy all 3 boxed versions.

My PC runs it at maximum just fine, so i have no reason to get it for PS4. Most games I want for PS4 are coming out for PC anyway.

    Yea thats awesome.

My PC plays it fine too at max, but I would love to play on my TV once in a while too and lets my GF also play it on the TV, not sure if her GTX 560 can play max at 60+ FPS.

Cool info. She hasn't downloaded it yet, so good to hear that!

Yep will still get PS4, probably still get FFXIV again on there too, but now I know either of us can play on TV or PC and have no lag or drawback lol. TY

pretty sure 560 can run on max easily now, even my old 9600gt runs close to max ( i have sli but that doesnt work yet, planing on upgrading anyway ) , there will be dx11 upgrade  shortly after launch i think, anyway its going to be such difference in graphic quality that there will be separate clients for dx9 and dx11, pretty sure ff14 1.0 looked better than it looks now, but difference in performance is huge step forward

noone knows which version will ps4 run, and since its still half year till ps4 launch, just stick with pc version for now

and client is free, you pay for key to create an account , even if you buy ps4 version you will have new key for new account, whats the point in 3 accounts when you can play only 2, but i might be wrong about console version, they might require disc or some bs to even launch the game even if you login using your pc account, or servers might be different for each version, was it different before?

either case, play on max using 560, since you already have an account, if you want ps4 version, get it half year from now

I could have SWORN I read if you bought the PS3 version, that'd carry over to PS4.  I'll try to find that and link it.

Get a 5-10 foot HDMI cord and just plug your TV into your PC if you have a TV with 1080 you can get a resolution of 1920x1080 when plugged into the PC.

Yes I'll be getting the PS4 version as well. With several great MMOs coming to PlayStation I'll be using my PC less and less. My computer could really use some upgrades but I'd rather put that money towards a PS4 now.

I wonder what will happen if someone tries signing in on a PS3/4 using their PC account information.

I understand they probably need the money ... but MMOs usually charge you for accounts not platform. I can play WoW on a Mac if I so choose yet never bought that version. Makes me wonder if theyll charge double for expansions too. Its sure as hell sets up precedence for it. Not to mention the different console versions too.

I "want" to get it for PS3 and PS4 (when I get one), but not if theyre going to double charge me for expansions too. Also, if the PS3 version doesnt copy/transfer over to the PS4 ill either wait for PS4 or just not get it at all.

Me too though they also said they were thinking about it still so its still up in there air. I only heard they would transfer from an E3 twitter feed @RPGSite where they said that PS3 should transfers over to PS4, and that theyre working closely with Sony to make the transition easy. Not exactly a clear confirmation but /shrug.

haha... you cannot run it on "max" and be getting 60fps. Maybe if you were looking at a wall.   Edit: Or maybe just not 1920.

Yeah there is no way. I dont even think I get a perfect 60 on Medium default with my computer and I have the same card, with 2 more GB of RAM. My Benchmark score is under 4k at max settings. Still plays well though OP, and looks great at Medium... so if your gf wants to play on her computer she'll be fine. Hell I play at 1080p on my computer so if she wants to play 720p on the TV it should run even better. Keep in mind that the PS4 version isnt coming out until early next year, probably February or March, so youll have to wait a while before you can both play like that.

Its the characters that carry over(your account). The PS3, PS4, and PC account are all interchangeable from what I read. If you create your character on one, you can login to another platform and use the same characters.

However, I don't think the game will be available to download on the PS4 shop, so if you want to play it on PS4, you probably have to buy the game.

If it is on the shop for download on PS4, then PC players as well as PS3 would be able to download and play on PS4 also without buying it as it would probably just ask you to login with your square-enix account to download.

I still think we will have to buy it again though, they are smart and don't want to lose all of that potential money.

IMO they actually stand to lose more money inAugust if they dont confirm that PS3 transfers over to PS4. I know if I planned on getting a PS4, and FFXIV was coming out on it next year, id just wait instead of buy it on August for PS3.

Hell even PC players like me that wanted to get the console version as well will probably end up waiting.

I have Phenom II x4 975 and 560 ti, I run everything maxed 1080p resolution and I get a constant 60 fps, it's amazing how well optimized  this game is.
