Originally posted by Shayde Lucasarts compounded the problem, yes. But they didn't code a damn bit of it. This isn't true, look at the credits again. they didn't ignore all the bugs since launch. Yes they did, they are QUALITY ASSUANCE. ALL LA did was put pressure on $OE to get the job done and done right. A task they failed miserably. $OE just blames LA for every foible because "we ran EQ, we know what we're doing!". Well, WoW kicked EQ2's ass up and down the MMORPG street, so EQ2 wasn't exactly success. Heck, before the CU it had less players than SWG. Actually SOE doesn't blame anyone. SOE works for LucasArts, not really good business to insult your boss. Aas far as EQ2, I absolutely agree: As education declines, WoW is on the rise. When Dodi told the driver to"lose those photographers".. was it his fault they crashed and killed Diana, or the DRUNKEN driver? LA was in the back seat.. but $OE was driving drunk and wrecklessly. This is VERY wrong, but you refuse to check the facts yourself. Yeah.. I agree on the proof. Until I see anything exonerating $OE, I'll just think your family members work there and don't want the stock price to drop. You can think that all you want, but considering I don't play a single SOE game, it's really hard to call me a fanboi. I've shown you the proof, it's as easy as going to the back of your instruction manual, yet you refuse to see it. You're just going to believe whatever you want and even if I show you photographs of LA in action you'll still keep your head buried. I'd ask you to look up what a producer of a game is in charge of for yourself, but even if the facts are presented to you, you still won't believe them.
If you look at it objectively, you'd realize that LucasArts is run EXACTLY like Geroge Lucas would do it if he ran it himself. People don't like to think of George or anything he creates as bad because he wrote (some say plagerized) a good story, but lets look at the facts:
"You don't get rich writing science fiction. If you want to get rich, you start a religion." - Hubbard, The Church of Scientology
George has allways been for me bad director, average story teller and excellent producer. It has been mostly entertaining to read how seriously some fans are taking Star Wars.
BTW: More than 70,000 people in Australia have declared that they are followers of the Jedi faith (BBC News 27 August 2002).

I'm with Rimmer; I enjoyed the game pre-holocron, I enjoyed it far less (but still enough) during holocrons, and I stuck with it a little while after holocrons. All in all, SWG was the first MMO I'd played continually for a year or more since Asheron's Call. At launch, SWG was very close to what I liked, but it just kept moving farther and farther away from what I enjoy. This newest incarnation is enough to prevent me from ever purchasing a game developed, marketed or administered by SOE again. I don't think that bothers them, though; one look at the way they've been doing things assures me that I'm no longer their target demographic.
