Best MMO for Helping Lowbies

forshizzle00forshizzle00 Member Posts: 3

Hey All,

So I'm in a bit of an MMO funk at the moment and want to pick up something new.  What I like the most about MMO's is the ability to help lower level players through hard content, which was fun back in the old days of DAOC and even WOW before all the quests / items were doable solo.

To get to the point, the question I have is which MMO out there (any besides EVE) would put me in a good place to help out lower level players once I got a maxed out character (or duo) of my own?

Cheers.

I sense you are asking which will let you powerlevel newbies for profit? That seems the only thing locked up in mechanics in most mmos.

Every other mmo has level sync of some kind, or you can mail newbies cash or gear, or walk them through quests, etc etc. Plenty ways for you to help out there.

    The Deep Web is sca-ry.

Hey thanks for the response.  No I don't want to level for profit, just want to be able to help folks out.  Games like wow / gw2 all have all the quests spelled out for you and there really isn't much need for higher level help.  Not to mention most are soloable anyway.

If you can decipher what you're supposed to do in Age of Wushu I'm sure anyone new to the game would appreciate being filled in

The above is my personal opinion. Anyone displaying a view contrary to my opinion is obviously WRONG and should STHU. (neener neener)

LOTRO at points in this if you are not subs (or historically) subbed some parts can be  a pain to grind so im sure some lower levels would welcome a bump

This post is all my opinion, but I welcome debate on anything i have put, however, personal slander / name calling belongs in game where of course you're welcome to call me names im often found lounging about in EvE online.

Yes, the LOTRO community, albeit small, tends to be close-knit and social.  Landroval, which is an RP server, is especially tight.  There's lots of grinding to be done in the game (traits that boost stats, etc.) and you could really help people of any level once you're maxed.

I have to plug FF14 ARR.

It's new and old all wrapped in to one.

And as a matter of protocol, the post above me. You will get help in LotRO. Landroval Server is where I play and while I don't have it installed right now, plenty of people will assist you if for some reason you need it.

Lotro, three posts so far. It must be the pipeweed or something. :)

I would give Anarchy Online a spin for that, the game is very complex and not very newbie friendly. You yourself will probably need help in the beginning, but once you learn it you can help newbies in a variety of ways, from twinking a character around their level to powerlevel them/blast through a dungeon to get them gear, or even take them out hunting on an OP max toon to get them gear. There are plenty of new people that need help, and if your willing to give it, I'd say give this game a try.

Asheron's Call 1 and 2 (and you get both for 1 sub).

Most dungeons don't have a high level lockout meaning you can go back and help them through it. In AC1 you can help buff/gear out lowbies as well.

AC2 about the only thing you can't help with is vaults. When you complete a vault you can't go back into the boss part ever again to help someone else. Other than that you could help with just about anything from crafting gear for lowbies or taking them through some of the hard quests.
