Another great update to the game and I'm mainly a PVP'er lol.   I'm hoping we will see other MMOs in the future take some notes from ANet when it comes to the steady stream of content and updates.  I read somewhere that Rift did steady updates for a while too, however I personally can't comment on that since I didn't start playing that game until recently, so that's one other.   One can hope at least that more MMOs will also, however if that never happens I will still always and forever have GW2 to play since it's already bought and paid for.

I'm also so behind with all these constant updates.  Am I complaining about too much content?   NIce complaint to have!

How are they neglecting it with a big balance change??? image

im thinking he is a troll. GW2 has had massive improvements, skills, ranks, sieges, matches, ranking matches, tournaments added and the balance in this patch is only PART of the PvP content...being able to build your own PvP maps and hold private matches is something how many games have?!?

    So, yeah...

And is additional content how?  I am sorry, but you can make a million different maps but when every single one of them are Resource node capping based with no deviation that isn't additional content.  Where is the King of the hill?  The CTF?

Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!

Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!

Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!

You clearly either have never played, or haven't in many months. PvP has been booming for the last 3 months. I cant even remember the last time my server did not have 3 large groups going at the same time with 6+ smaller groups slowly the enemy down or taking smaller points...and that's in WvWvW...the ranked group matches are always going, the tournaments are filled with teams, spectator mode is a hit and with this patches content its only going to make it more popular.

The new balance patch has people nervous they will need to buy all new gear. But that's not really a big deal. Im eager to see, hopefully, some worthwhile changes for wars in pvp. And I know the Engs, Necros, and Rangers could use some love. But beyond that I'm a sucker for dungeons and cant wait to check this new one out. Hopefully they will release those steampunk armors next week too.

What are you talking about? PvE players aren't exactly happy either. Endgame is just a grind to be the most fashionable person in Tyria, while exploration forces you to go into World vs. World to finish getting 100% of the world map. Also the updates PvE players have gotten haven't exactly been that great.

Read the forums and you can see how happy people were with Southsun. These monthly living stories have already started to get old (at least for me). They are uninspiring and the events involved around them are a chore and the only reason people do them is get enough achievements for whatever reward they are giving out.

The story itself that I've seen from these "living-story" updates has been sub-par and not very interesting at all. They honestly need to get better writers or something.

Anyone else shocked a full expansion hasn't been announced yet?

Me. While the living story and holiday updates are cool, they last for a week tops. We need a big boy update. We need new zones opened up. We need a new dragon to capture our attention. Who knows maybe the living story is a content filler between dragons, but dam, at least announce that your working on it. Give those of us who have everything we need in the game, hope that some serious content updates are on the horizon. No matter how far that horizon actually is.

Sure, that could happen I guess.  Considering GW1 servers are still on I'm not worried.  Besides, if they magically decided to shut down their servers tomorrow GW2 would still have been the best money and time investment I have made in an MMO yet.

Soooo,......what happens when they don't close the servers down?  I keep playing without paying a sub plus continue to keep getting tons of great, free content updates.  That's win for me and the many others that enjoy the game.

Last time I checked, adding maps is the exact definition of "additional content." It doesn't matter if you don't like it, it's still there. And I don't know if you've ever actually played sPvP but every single map is very different from every other.

And you are yet another person that is unable/unwilling to read posts. I clearly said spvp/tpvp, now if you are unwilling to address what i was talking about please do not quote me out of context.

I never said that WvW was doing badly, and you stating that WvW is great and everyone is playing it has nothing to do with the state of spvp/tpvp.

I'm pretty sure his post was referring to your blanket statement on how "the population is dead on the pvp side of the game".  Ummm,....WvW is pvp.  How is sPvP crap btw?  Is it your ability or skill in those types of games?

LoL, I clearly stated at the beginning of my post that i was talking about spvp/tpvp.  And yes it was my skill that made everyone quit playing.  It was my skill and how good I am, I drove everyone away, after all if all i do is cerb stop them game after game why would they want to keep playing.  Most players don't like it when I can solo their team and I 3 cap them over and over again.

"THE PvP side of the game" is EVERYTHING PvP, "THIS PvP side of the game" would be the PART you are talking about.

Not that it matters, you would be wrong with either one because spvp and tpvp are big hits. the LACK of a queue means nothing...its the AMOUNT OF TIME IT TAKES to get into it that could be argued.

If it took 30 minutes for a tpvp to pop you may have something, but it doesn't does it? no, because there are a lot of people doing it so you end up getting a match fast. After this patch though, YOU may have a long queue because most of us that are GOOD are going to be creating private matches only against other good PvP teams.

This is great.  For people crying about either PvE or PvP, I think you're both dead wrong, they've done a lot to add content to both sides of the game, and also WvW.  WvW is in a golden age as far as I'm concerned right now, with the new randomized weekly matchups.  If you haven't played since November you've missed a lot.  Seriously, go read up on the patch notes, minor balance changes my ass.

The stuff they've recently announced is also pretty cool.  New dungeon, new area, trait and skill rebalancing, lfg tool, weapon dyes, custom arenas, additional fractals in the works, etc.  The content in this game is stellar, I love the variety and the fact that things are always happening.  I never feel like all there is for me to do is go do some raid a billion times, or go run a dungeon a million times so I can be "good" and not be a burden to any group.

To the guy who was asking about CTF in sPvP: Spirit Watch?  It's CTF with capture points, and it's viable to win via capping or by holding the points down.

SOunds as boring as always. Work on the crappy WvW already. Whoever had a que of 3 hours to get into WvW is flat out lying, haven t had one in months.

The rebalance looks pretty big this time:

    https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/upcoming-skill-and-trait-changes/

We'll have to wait and see, of course, but it does look like a major update to a part of the game that is a bit disappointing at the moment.

Dang I didn't even know you still played GW2.

Ahh whelp on topic, this is once again another interesting update.

I might get banned for this. - Rizel Star.
