    Libertarian , almost extreme .

    just looking for trouble
..anyone got a problem with that..?

  • LaserwolfLaserwolf Member Posts: 2,383

    Result:

Right side of Liberal, which is what I consider myself anyway.

However most those questions are loaded as hell.

    For instance:

1.)"There should be no laws regarding sex for consenting adults."

Though this question seems to be asking if we believe there should be laws against gay or lesbian sex, I had to go with Disagree because there should be laws to prohibit sex in public places and stuff like that, though I would not support laws against consenting gay or lesbian adults regarding sex in private.

2.)"Repeal laws prohibiting adult possession and use of drugs."

Again we have a question that must be about marijuana but I had to go with Disagree because it doesn't specify the drug, while I would most likely vote in favor of legalizing marijuana.

Sure there is a maybe option, but I still love how political poll questions tend to put important issues in either an extremely bad or good light depending on what they want the results to be.

I have taken this before, some years ago. I have moved from being libertarian to liberal. I can live with that.

I experienced exactly the same, a couple of years ago when I took it...libertarian, now liberal.

Plus back then they called statist something else, can't remember what it was (maybe facist image )

CENTRISTS espouse a "middle ground" regarding government

control of the economy and personal behavior. Depending on

the issue, they sometimes favor government intervention

and sometimes support individual freedom of choice.

Centrists pride themselves on keeping an open mind,

tend to oppose "political extremes," and emphasize what

they describe as "practical" solutions to problems.

    Sounds about right

Thanks you guys. You're helping me a lot.
Everyone else in my class is checking up on a somewhat predictable group, but I think I came up with one that's a lot more interesting and unpredictable. And the results have been interesting so far too.

I got centrist with a slight lean towards liberal. Pretty accurate for me.
  • GreyhammerGreyhammer Member Posts: 29

Top right corner of the Centrist square... so I guess I lean Libertarian/Conservative.

Thanks for the interesting quiz. I think some of those questions are designed to be mini-Rorschach tests, as well. That could be why it seems so shallow.

    LIBERTARIAN

LIBERTARIANS support maximum liberty in both personal and

economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one

that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence.

Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose

government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate

diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.

The RED DOT on the Chart shows where you fit on the political map.

That was fun!!!  I knew I was Libertarian but wow.
Get the Republicans out of our bedrooms and the Democrats out of our pockets (actually, with Bush now both parties are in our pockets).  I'm just really scared of the coming Republican Theocracy.  That party has been so hijacked.  I don't care if there is or isn't a seperation of church and state clause, if there isn't then there should be.  Fundamentalists of any religion are damn scary.

I don't know, I looked at your link and I think I like the one from the OP.  The test you put up doesn't leave many options.  Like this question...

Controlling inflation is more important than controlling unemployment.

What if you don't believe in controlling either.  What if you think it's not the federal governments job to get involved in issues such as manipulating the market and the economy?  I couldn't answer that question either way.

Actually, right smack dab on the upper left corner of the Centrist square between Liberal and Libertarian.

    Libertarian...

This test is somewhat slanted, but still does okay...  I believe more in state power...  People are so much different in Minnesota as compared to Mississippi, that the government is simply not as representative as it should be...
