SWG Review from a Hardcore Gamer.

I was trying to login this afternoon to findout my account had been banned. My long hours of playing estimating 10 hours. The troubles I went threw to gain levels ect. All gone. But I did accomplish my Goal. It was a quest I had to embark upon while playing SWG. I finally realized the game sucked ass. SOE had ruined yet another game. First it was Everquest and now SWG. Sony needs to stick with making electronics. Anyways, I made a goal to get myself banned. It was fun really, chewing people out for standing up for SWG and SOE. I went on about how lame the game is, how customer service bairly exists, how the game had no real Star Wars story play. Its just like a futuristic game but without the future. It felt like playing Runescape but alittle bit better graphics. Rarely can group, barely noone on even said server is full. This game is horrible. If you are interested in playing this pathetic mmorpg. You are in for no treat. SOE has ruined Lucas in the online world. This game has nothing to do with Star Wars PERIOD. Its a scam that Lucas fell for.
Just to clarify how horrible customer service is. It took 16hours before my account got banned. I went to the most populated area's I could and yelled SOE sucks in a spamming manner with a few more harrassing shouts . This is the last and final time I play anything with SOE stamped on to it.
P.s I thank them for banning me. Hopefully it carries out to other upcoming games from them. So if I do happend to buy a SOE game on accident, I can be automatically banned. Would save me the time and some players grief.

That's not a review, and you're not hardcore. The game has everything to do with Star Wars, more so since the NGE than ever before. Right from the get go you are swept into a Star Wars storyline, working along side and for famous characters from the movies. I even talked to Jabba the Hutt. He's from Star Wars.
I too, thank them for banning you as you shouldn't go around harrassing people and spamming. I do however wish you all the best and hope you'll come back and tell us when you find a game that is all you hope for.

Wow... what a rebel you are. First, you do something stupid that is easily ignored by people, then waste five minutes of some CSR's time, and now wasted five minutes of my time. You are truly an inspiration to self important idiots everywhere.

No matter that NGE is IMHO not a good game anymore, but people making fools of themselves and wasting other players time by spamming insults and slurs deserve to be banned in any game.

heh it depends on his motives for being baned .. was it to get the balance of a pre paid sub back?
when you get banned they refund your money so ALOT of people have gone this route.
If you did it to be a jerk - well you didt work hard enuff at it , in my day we had enought people spamming that the CSR's decared war on the players and spawned the mega mobs of the game to clear us out.
It was a beautiful site to see the entire player base show up to fight back against CSR oppression, even dancers in leotards came out of cantinas and grabbed CDEF's to fight the driods. Seeing evil dakr jedi heal fallen light side jedi or help a cornered BH who got caught by a random spawn of SBD's in the spaceport was amazing.
Only problem was there were some innocent players there who were killed instantly by CSRs for just playing the game. finally after the CSR's and their uber mobs got wiped by the player base 2- 3 times they started warping players to space without their ships where they counldnt play , then refused to move them back for days some people were left in space for 2 weeks unable to play. Then they banned the leaders of the revolution.
Ahh what a great day that was.

More likely they thought you were a tool - as do probably a good a chunk of people here. I do hope you had fun belittleing people, I'm sure your e-penis grew by +1 for every person you "made feel really small"

You know I genuinely feel sorry for guys like Erillion. Despite our past differences it is a great shame that SOE chose to dump all over guys like him who really tried to defend the game and make the best of it for himself and others.
I think it really is a big nail in the SWG coffin when die hards like himself and some of the others here start to jump ship.

No, I have not cancelled yet. But yes, I am more than a little frustrated about losing 2/3 of my friends in game. Its good that we stay in contact via our website, as YCS essentially became a multi game guild now. Two primary save havens at the moment : WoW and EVE.
At the moment logging into SWG is not fun. Almost no one there and bugs which makes the last 2.5 years look like we played a highly polished , highly balanced game (which is not true, but with all my friends and enough things that WERE working I enjoyed it .. but now almost EVERYTHING is buggy).
I am not against the changes ... they are radical, but change was needed. But this half assed not-thought-through, zero-tested, market-deadline driven DESASTER kicks even long term fans into the groin repeatedly. Its a disgrace both to Lucasarts and Sony. Essentially they took away everything that people DID enjoy and replaced it with bugs, lag and silence on the chat channels.
I will check in from time to time and see if they can get their act together at the end of my current 3 month subscriber scheme (BTW at the moment it does NOT look good .. minimal changes, lotsa hot air ... seems to me they look how well Starter Kit is selling and do not invest a lot of dev resources into it until they see if this was the end of it or a fresh start). I have almost the whole of the Mustafar expansion to still check out ... which I will do in the next month or two.
