Elder scrolls online and FFXIV are on PS4 and EQ Next will be as well(its a sony game lol). PLanetside 2 and DC UNiverse online also already confirmed.
Almsot every major MMO will be on one of the new consoles as they are very powerful and easy to port to.
That's an opinion not a confirmation, link the source please.
If you want them to say a release date and all the PS4 details, that hasn't happened yet. But I am sure that at SOE live they will say this game will be on the PS4.
EQ was on consoles way back on PS2. Sony wants their games on consoles as well as PC, more money! This new console is more powerful than most people's PC, so I am 100% sure this game will be out on PS4, theres no reason for it not to happen.
I'll ask one more time, can you link the source of a dev confirming that EQN is going to be coming to the PS4. If you can't actually find a source with a devs saying this then it's not a confirmation it's speculation on your part.
He clearly said in the OP that it wasn't officially announced that EQN would be on the PS4. It's right in front of your face. Quit being such a douche. This thread was intended to speculate and ask who would get it on the PC/PS4/both if its available on both platforms.
And you clearly haven't noticed that he edited his first post which actually said it had been confirmed, why else would we be arguing the case that it hasn't been confirmed lol.

I'm not asking when or if there will be a confirmation, i'm asking for the confirmation that the OP has heard or read.
I think OP is asking for peeps to read between the line here, and think alittle for themselves. Have they outright said it will be on PS4? No. But since most of Sonys MMOs are going there, and the " " in his response to it etc, leans HEAVILY towards it being on console. So I think it's safe to say that it WILL be ported. They just can't say it yet, since they await their big announcment come august.
To everyone having doubts whether or not EQN will be released on PS4, let's take this into some serious consideration.
PlanetSide 2, a game that runs on the exact same engine as EverQuest Next, has already been confirmed for PlayStation 4 - and will be released alongside the console's launch. Not only is it likely that EverQuest Next will be released on the console, but it'd be a little silly for SOE NOT to release it for PS4. With an already compatible engine and a huge potential player-base from the console side, SOE has a great opportunity to recruit A LOT of players.
This coupled with the teasing we've been getting from Smedley basically confirms that we will be getting a PS4 release. It may not be exactly at launch, but I'm willing to be we will get it eventually.
And to all the pessimists thinking that a console release is akin to some sort armageddon, you have to realize that development toward the PS4 is actually very good for PC users in the long run. The developers will be focusing on optimizing the multi-core CPU support for the PS4 which will translate to much better performance on the PC for users who have PC's with multi-core CPU's. A PS4 release is a GOOD thing for us PC users.
That's all well and good but as of now EQN has not been confirmed for the PS4 like the OP has said on two occasion in this thread.
Perhaps you can help him out and link the confirmation source.
Oh, and i have no problem if it does come out on the PS4, i'll get the console but still play the game on my bad boy system.
Point is that it hasn't been confirmed, right?
I never said it was confirmed. My point is that given the information that we already know, we can infer that a PS4 release is very likely and beyond just speculation.
Nope it's just speculation up to this point and unlike what the OP claims it hasn't been confirmed.
Anything we are discussing is irrelevant.
For someone who claims not to mind it coming out on PS4, you seem awfully adamant about shutting down player discussion about it even though it's a very likely scenario. People are just killing time until the August 2nd reveal, whether what they're discussing is irrelevant or not.
That being said, I would love for it to come out on PS4, 'cause my computer is slowly going to shit, and I'd rather play on something a little more stable. So PS4 all the way if it happens.

If you were standing in the middle of a highway and saw a vehicle headed straight forward towards you, you can infer that the vehicle will most likely hit you, right? We don't need a confirmation that you will get hit.
You can apply that same logic to this situation. We have a large amount of evidence and information available right now that let's us deduce that a PS4 release is quite likely for EQN. This is completely beyond speculation, and completely normal for people wanting to discuss things like this. To just blindly put it off as just some sort of wide speculation is like covering your eyes and pretending the information doesn't exist, or just being plain ignorant.

Nope, i just corrected the OP by saying it hadn't been confirmed, he should of bowed out then but he insisted on linking me some source which still didn't confirm it.
Misinformation is rampant on these forums and leads no where.
So forget about me wanting to close somebody down, let's stick with the fact that it hasn't been confirmed, right?

I'll get it on PC, and if its very good, and its released on PS4, and you can play on the same servers, and it plays well, I may also get it on PS4 - for those days when I just want to flake out on the sofa and go gathering. But if it doesnt mix servers, and it plays like crap, then I probably won't.

Wtf r u even doing on these forums then? Everything that is being talked about EQN is PURE speculations. Why even bother answering threads like this at all on your part? Leave it to the people that dares to think outta the box on matters, and work with what we know bout the game, like the hints on a PS4 release etc. Some people...
Sony better bolster its servers if Playstation 4 is going to have a few MMORPGs...
I plan on getting the PS4 as Elder scrolls and Everquest Next are going to be on it
Would rather compete against other players without having to deal with disadvantages due to constant hardware upgrades for PCs and players having any kind of advantage or edge because their gaming rig is much better. Also consider most players who persist in PC gaming are older and yes our time is dawning as we must acknowledge the age of the console gamer is upon us and we must come to terms with this being a reality.
Also, being considered an old timer in comparison to much of the gaming community I have much wisdom and experience to pass on playing MMORPGs and FPSs from the very beginning online when there was only dialup, til present. Consider the next huge MMORPG success will be successfully run over a console and you can bank on that being Playstation 4. Much of the community on a PS4 will be younger generations which need mentoring, support, and balance as the world around us and within us is getting utterly ridiculous in comparison to what old timers refer to as being the good ol days, heh.
The old days of MMORPGs are over and so is the ridiculous timesink, mindless grind, poor graphics, poor MOB AI, heroes, griefers, gankers, themeparks, banks, Fuhrers, Wannabes, being pretty/sexy, nerd rage, etc...and so on
Its high time we realized the future of MMORPGs is all about immersive graphics, dynamic environments, seasonal change, dynamic AI, community, collective, teamwork, sandboxes, economies, cooperation, diplomacy, bartering, trading, exchanging, sharing, and yes caring , being accepted for who you are and what you contribute, and being cool and so on
So lets all just relax, breathe easy, and learn how to properly work as a team as we bring balance and harmony back to the world of strife and conflict and disharmony and distraction/preoccupation on the next great console of our era:

I agree that it's time for consoles to take over, but believe we need conflict... not just cooperation... to keep things interesting.

While a lot could have changed between now and when this interview was given, it still adds fuel to the fire.
"MTV Multiplayer: In your keynote, you had mentioned, by having MMOs on consoles, there will be additional returns. But has there been a significant cost?
Smedley: No, not really. Because we developed our codebase such that the engine will run on across both [platforms]. So there was some up front investment, certainly, but we've invested in making sure that the technology runs on both. We're adapting controls and some of the communication features but we're trying to keep the same primary game.
MTV Multiplayer: So you would say all of SOE's MMOs will appear on consoles from now on?

I'll ask one more time, can you link the source of a dev confirming that EQN is going to be coming to the PS4. If you can't actually find a source with a devs saying this then it's not a confirmation it's speculation on your part.
youll get your confirmation at the SoE event in a few months
I'm not asking when or if there will be a confirmation, i'm asking for the confirmation that the OP has heard or read.
Elder scrolls online and FFXIV are on PS4 and EQ Next will be as well(its a sony game lol). PLanetside 2 and DC UNiverse online also already confirmed.
Almsot every major MMO will be on one of the new consoles as they are very powerful and easy to port to.
That's an opinion not a confirmation, link the source please.

Its more likely that it will come to PS4 than it won't.
Thanks for this. Finally something indisputable.
Yep that pretty much raises the chances up to about 90 IMO
It feels like a 100% guarantee. But you never know, they might have come across some hardware issues, or certain problems so they couldn't bring it to PS4, because they seem like they're trying to be way more ambitious with EQN than their other games, but chances are, when they started redoing the game a couple years back (or whenever), they likely built it from the ground up with consoles in mind, and fixed the problems they had.
We don't know the specifics, but still, it's definitely leaning more towards console than not.
Yep, if EQN is released on PS4 at the same time as PC I'll be buying it for the PS4. The only thing keeping me from consoles up until now was that I liked playing MMOs and spent that money building a PC.
With PSN for an audio interface, Eye for visual and motion capabilities it makes the most sense.
It has not been confirmed, although it seems likely, just dont jump to conclusions so quickly.
As an answer to your question, I will have a high end PC system and will also be getting the PS4, still I prefer to play MMO's , or any RPG for that mather on the PC. So I will play any and all MMO that goes PC and Consoles solely on the PC.
By the time EQ Next is released, PS4 will be out. This game is going to also be on PS4. (ok not offcially announced, but it will be on there). PLanetside 2 is on PS4, elder scrolls online is on it, FXIV is on it, etc. EQ = sony = on PS4.
Lets see, if it will run on a PS4, then that means the game will run on a $150 GPU and a $80 processor. So, $1000 PC? no, $400 video card? no, not even close. Most of us already have PC's that will be way overspec for the game.

Eh, if the game is designed as a PC game first and foremost (controls and menu systems intuitive for a PC user) and then made available on the PS4 with the same control scheme (as well as a modified console option as well for those who will not use a keyboard/mouse) I wouldn't mind.
My biggest requirement is that I would be able to play the same account between PS4 and PC - Because it would be awesome sometimes to just lay in bed on a lazy day and play EQN on my 60" with a wireless keyboard/mouse and not have to connect my laptop up to the TV to do so.
So I would say definitely on PC, possibly for PS4.

EQOA on PS2 was my first MMORPG. I remember my brother got the beta mailed to him so we could try it on PS2 and it was awesome. Fond memories! Even though people might make fun of EQOA, I thought it was awesome. A lot of a hastle though, you had to buy a modem just to put in the back of your ps2. Couldnt go from modem to ps2 or router to ps2, had to buy the modem and install it into the back of the ps2.
Safe to say in 2013 it wont be as much of a hastle. Anyone who willingly wants to play an MMORPG on a console will probably have a keyboard. I'm curious how they will use mics though. Just disable? Who knows. I totally approve of Everquest Next being on ps4. Even admittingly sometimes I'm just not in a mood to sit on my computer and play games, I'd like to relax in a comfier chair or couch and play an awesome MMORPG. But when I'm at the computer I have to sit up straight and focus in really hard and sometimes it becomes uncomfortable or I'm just not in a "game on the PC" mood

And you clearly haven't noticed that he edited his first post which actually said it had been confirmed, why else would we be arguing the case that it hasn't been confirmed lol.
Do you understand the definition of inference? Or did you not read a single thing I wrote?
Yes, it hasn't been confirmed. Now you can leave the thread and get some sleep tonight.
Again that's all well and good, the fact is everything about EQN coming to the PS4 is pure speculation up to this point. No point wasting a whole post on the above lol, should of saved yourself the trouble.
Okay - then by your "logic", every thread on this forum shouldn't exist then, right? Everything discussed about this game is speculative at this point as we've had NOTHING confirmed, so why exactly are you on this forum again?
You do realize that when the OP said he never confirmed it, and he was inferring, THAT was when we got there, right? lol
If not earlier than that.

Sony Playstation 4
I agree that it's time for consoles to take over, but believe we need conflict... not just cooperation... to keep things interesting.

I'm an MMO purist and believe and feel whole heartedly that the genre only belongs on the PC. Console is the realm for casual gamers.
My opinion only and isn't right nor wrong but that's feelings on the subject.
Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!
Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!
Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!

$80 processor? Didn't realize it was so cheap.
