I did a quick montage of my moments in Final Fantasy 14. I only got up to level 10 and turned around and started on another class. From my 10+ hours of playing the game seems solid. However, this game doesn't seem like anything ground breaking. And even has elements clearly taken from other games.
Like the Fate system is dynamic content. Which is all the rave these days in mmo's. Being that I am under NDA a bit I can't show actual moving videos. But screenshots can be shown and let fly. But with all that said It's FF. And I appreciate it for that and it is fun. But don't go in expecting it to be a wow killer. I consider this a niche game if you're a FF fan you will like it. If you're not a FF fan you may hate it and pass on it.
Combat this time around in this game is better. And I'm sure it will be awesome with team play and team limit Breaks. However, it still needs a bit of work as it feels clunky sometimes. And other times it's too loose and you fly right by a target. All of these things will get addressed I'm sure it's just beta.
The Sound and graphics in this game are top notch. You expect that feel from Final Fantasy games. This one doesn't let you down in that arena at all. I kinda feel like I'm playing FF2 all over again in some areas. Because the music sounds almost exactly the same.
Quests are pretty much the same you see in any game. They do have a wide variety of quests. But they are still the same run of the mills we are used to. I'd like to see something unique in this department. And no guild level quest does not count it's been done before.
I'll touch on more later as we move finally out of NDA. So I can let those live action videos run free on you tube. For now enjoy the sights and I'll see you next vid.

Every time I see a post where someone offers an opinion and didnt even hit level 15.....which is the bare minimum to experience any real content....i just laugh.
Clearly you have not been following this game and the direction it's going. They've stated elements they pulled from other games. If you expected something ground breaking then your expectation will fall short. This game is heavily focusing on PvE and story.
@Kaji I laugh when dudes can't read past "I did a quick montage of my moments in Final Fantasy 14" Meaning it's a quick montage. And plus it's only part one I stopped on purpose saturday night after the live stream. A open forum with you tubers talking about FF. In which I was level 18 everyone agreed we should just let it ride until open beta. And what I said "DOESN'T" change at those levels.
@Kabi Clearly you didn't comprehend the post. Because I clearly say a few times the game isn't ground breaking but that is ok. Because it's Final Fantasy and they can do that. Now some people won't like that some will. They are banking on the public ignoring innovation for the feel of a FF game. Which is fine but in these days of access it's a major ballsy gamble. I hope works out for them. Because substance in gaming is very overlooked.
Every MMO takes from other MMOs, so such a statement is rather moot. Hard to find an MMO where elements aren't shared or reiterated upon. Having played the beta myself, I can say that FFXIV isn't ground-breaking. However, what it does is offer more collectively than most MMOs. Some offer great combat, but little else in content. Some offer great crafting, but the story is bland. I'd say FFXIV puts it all together into a nice package with an IP I absolutely love. That's the key here.
Some gamers are really looking for something amazingly different. For those individuals, FFXIV won't be the game for them. Does that make FFXIV a bad game? Hardly! It just means they should hold out and look for a different game. But for an MMO gamer who wants solid game play and deep content, FFXIV has a lot to offer. Judging ANY MMO from the first 15 levels or so is difficult, because you won't really get deep into things like crafting, player housing, chocobo-raising, etc.
Said eveything! this game is mostly for FF fans and its not revolutionary, but as i played till lvl 22 its pretty solid and fun.
@Tao
If I had said a "This is a DEEP in depth look that would be true. However, it was a quick look and a screenshot montage of that look. If you look at my past reviews in other games. I usually got 25-30 levels in. The difference here is most in depth reviews you want to come from open beta. Not a ever changing closed beta, doing reviews off that should be quick first looks.
Which is what reviewers do. But like par for the course guys don't read the first sentence. And naturally assume every review is a in depth WHOLE game look. Despite what the person actually said. Be easy I'll get to in depth when I'm not handcuffed by the incredibly silly NDA they have on. I like to show and prove something screenshots really don't do justice. I have so much footage fights encounters. And GM's doing events but nothing I can about it right now.
That's what first looks are Tao. You don't do in depth on things changing. You waste your and everyone else's time.
I mean you have you're opinion, and all but I'll be fine. I've been doing this for a long time and this is how reviewers do. Feel free to follow someone else if you don't like the approach. I'm not going to willingly waste gamers time. On info that maybe invalid a week later. If you want that you need to look elsewhere.
In fact Dev's made a post with that sentiment in mind. Asking all of us you tubers who was on the live stream. To fully review content when open beta goes live. Like I said when the NDA is up I'll let the info fly. Long in depth with proof of what I'm saying etc...For now everyone including me is doing first looks and montage's better get used to it. Until open beta goes anyone over doing it will probably get the info pulled.
Smh ignore the annoying arm chair reviewers. Who don't know what they're talking about anyway. I agree with Ralstin people don't need to have the same opinion. Funny thing is the OP didn't ever say it was in depth.
You can't make a in depth review on a closed beta thats fail. If he did that then it be. The same people be "complaining how are you making a in depth review on changing content.?"
Either way people cry, so it's best do the norm and do a "First Look". Which is what he did. I could show you more in depth reviews. But what happens when the discussed changes from this weekend happens.
Then that in depth review is invalid. And you have a bunch of whining on that. See why you don't do things like that? It's a noob unprofessional move as a reviewer.
Anyway.....What was you're thoughts on starting over with the new class? At the end you did that and had no clothes on lmao........I waited until later to try a new class.

Then click the link and keep it moving. No point to even post it's not up to you to determine someone else's point.
In essence you're complaining you got back story on the making of the screen shots. Yea..... cut it out sorry I wasn't lazy enough for you. To post a link and say here screenshots lol.
L M A O you just made my day with that statement.
Do you prefer the Lancer over Thermatage? I've been asking a lot of people on class combo's. I'm still undecided right now, especially with new classes added.
N/p open beta is almost upon us. You know I'm to explode the content lol.
I had 4 beta's to build it up
