EQ nostalgia quiz thread

KwanseiKwansei Member UncommonPosts: 334

Like many others I am quite hyped for EQN - and rather than try and theorycraft on Smedtweets why not have a fun thread for EQ nostalgia.

The rules are simple

1. Ask a  EQ trivia question

2. Answer the above poster's question and add one of your own.

3. /goto 1

Question: In EQ1 the term "Green Boner" refers to what?

    Good old Shadow Knight pets....

What caused the most zone in deaths in Unrest? (might just be a server specific thing...)

There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"

  • koboldfodderkoboldfodder Member UncommonPosts: 447

Hmmm.....I do not remember that term but I will guess using deductive reasoning.  Boner HAS to be a pet, as that was one of the random names.  Now, does that means a magician pet or a Necro/SK pet (who were actually pets)?  The fact that it is called green leads me to believe that you are talking about a higher level SK pet.  SK pets were always a bit lower level than the real pet classes.

So I will say it is a level 50 SK green skeleton pet named Boner...lol.

Question:  Who stormed the gates of Qeynos in a never ending attempt to take over the city!

/answer to the other question:  Hag trains to zone usually caused by them casting through the ceiling as a player goes "HSWDLF TRhag  zone!"

    Poor old Fippy Darkpaw...

Question: Who would smack the crap out of you if you killed wolves in Qeynos hills when they were nearby?

     1. Trains were the worst in unrest.

     2. Fippy Darkpaw always charge Qeynos.

    Fippy Darkpaw!

Umm trivia...Name one of the "crooked" Freeport guards.

    Damn Holly Windstalker....always got me

These twin cyclops would always act like buffoons? Bonus: which zone were they located in?
  • MardukkMardukk Member RarePosts: 2,222

Froon and Choon were the Cyclops in WK.

Edit: It's amazing when you go through the mob list in zones and see how many distinct mobs were in each zone.  MMO's have gotten away from designing unique zones/mobs in an effort to not upset anyone...it's maddening what has become of the genre.  Universal loot tables are the devil.

An elite mob that will spank you!

But if the mage ran out of mana they would be shouting for a breeze to blow it away.

Question: This tunnel was the original market place of EQ. (Of many servers at least).

Trivia Question: When conning an NPC, what message appears for the highest threat level?

Personal Question: What's your favourite old world zone in terms of nostalgia?

What would you like your tombstone to say?

Favorite old world zone is an easy one, Greater Faydark. Starting zone for my main toon. Would often go back just to visit when I was higher levels and to clean up Crushbone a bit.

My question: Who was the high level guy in Dreadlands who would kill on site if anyone non-Iksar would get too close? Good luck running away, unless you were a Bard you probably would be run down.

Played: EQ1 (10 Years), Guild Wars, Rift, TERA
Tried: EQ2, Vanguard, Lord of the Rings Online, Dungeons and Dragons Online, Runes of Magic and countless others...
    Currently Playing: GW2

    Gorenaire, she was a dragon.

KFC was the Aviak Village in South Karana if I remember right.

And Gore was always cool with me as a Wood Elf. Plus Gore is a she, thinking of someone else. :)

KFC refers to the Aviak Village in South Karana where you would expect to find... Aviaks.

Speaking of the Karanas, there is a family of cyclopses that resides in the Karanas.  Identify all of them.

    1. What EQ exclusive, type of attack did snakes have?

    2. Typically hunted in Southern Ro or Ocean of Tears, what cyclops was hunted for his ring, and why? (My SK made tons of plat off from this)

    1. kicking

    2. Ancient cyclops for ring for Jboots

What enchanted creature lurked near the angry farmers of West Karana and required magic to harm it

    - it only appeared at night i believe

    1. Snake "kicks" you for X damage.

    2. In OoT, my Druid was bound near Gornit, and made a fortune farming him, I loved that zone. The Fabled Ancient Cyclops dropped a Fabled Ancient Ring that had caster stats on it.

Question: In the sewers of the city of Qeynos, there is some graffiti that says "Aradune is stinky". Who is Aradune and why should you care?

Edit, Nice Nadia, J boots, guess that's why my druid never bothered to farm for him, SoE and all.

Aradune Mithara was co-designer Brad McQuaid's Ranger (with his Fiery Avenger that was only for Paladins!)

What was the only reason anyone ever went to Kerra Isle?
