In a bit of a pickly

I've done all that I can, and I now turn to your all.

Recently, I've decided to come to FFXI since I've got $15 bucks to activate a content ID. Now, my sister had bought the game about a year or two ago, but she didn't play it since she bought it, and it was cancelled after the first month. Now everything went pretty smoothly other than the registration server being down, but that was easily bearable.

Here's my problem, I get up to the "Enter PlayOnline Registration Code" part, and I enter the code in the back of the book, click submit, and WHAM, it says this: "Invalid Registration Code, please check your code and try again". It doesn't say its being used, so this isn't the case is it? Is there anything I can do? I live in kansas (Central Standard Time) and there phone times say 9:00 to 6:00pm pacific standard time. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

    Maybe somone can correct me, but I'm under the impression that if you allow your account to lapse, you have to buy and entirely new copy of the software needed to play. The only excpetion to this is during random promotional periods when they try to get old subscribers to fire up their accounts again. Makes no sense at all to me, but at least a year or two ago that's how it worked . . .

    Well im pretty sure you cant make a new ContentID with the same code as someone else...

    so just log in with her playonline ID, then goto reactivate contentID instead of purchasing one, it should just bring back the old one

    but unfortunately your sisters character will be gone forever.

    Thats another problem, she says she deleted that account, and doesn't remember her account info anyway.

    Your account and registration code are expired. Once a registration code is used to create an account, it is used up; it cannot be used to create another. When your account is inactive for a certain amount of time, it is deleted. That time is now one year, but when your sister left, it was three months. Deletion of your account does *not* make the registration code good again. You need a new copy of the game; you can get one for $30 retail, probably less at some discount place.

    Well crap, thats a real bummer, who the hell over at square-enix thought up that system of account creation anyway? Oh well, I think I can pick it up for $20 over here, minus the Chains of Promethia expansion. Thanks for all of your help, everyone.
