That's why I tried to emphasize "guesstimate" and gave ranges It can be tough to recall every MMO ever tries out, especially after decades of playing

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse. - FARGIN_WAR
I always thought that im addicted to gaming but realiziing people have been playing more than 300 mmorpgs in one life im not sure anymore. Its fascinating how many free time some people have. Ive played a lot of MMOs recently, mostly client based ones. I've made a list of the Mmorpgs that i have played in the past years and its still growing. Not all of them were enjoyable but i dont feel bad for playing games at all. This is my hobby and i hate sports and mainstream sh*t so keep gaming, even if you have played more than 400 mmorpgs (you freaking nerds )

Even way back when, there are some posters who played UO, EQ, DAoC, AC and many other old MMOs. That was back when there were fewer games to select from and slower leveling rates. Imagine what a hungry MMO player could rip through in today's market...
I think at most, I may have played 5 to 7 different MMOs in a 1 month span of time. I did not stick with any of them, but I downloaded, installed, created an account and logged in.
I do look askance at the votes in the upper brackets, but I remind myself that not everyone plays games the way I do

This is true..
However, these votes in the upper brackets could also be people just pulling your leg.
I haven't played that many, maybe scanned through them. It's honestly hard to keep my attention with gaming, but I did do the basics such as DAOC, EQ I/II, WoW, etc.

I realize that there will be some who do this

I just did a quick count using the game list and I came up with 31.
There are certain queer times and occasions in this strange mixed affair we call life when a man takes this whole universe for a vast practical joke, though the wit thereof he but dimly discerns, and more than suspects that the joke is at nobody's expense but his own. -- Herman Melville
I played about 5-10 MMO more than two weeks, less than a month.
And I tried a dozen under the 2 weeks mark.
And I vomit on about 2 or 3 dozens after a few hours.
I am still under your 10% mark at any rate...so when am I knowledgeable in a MMO? EQ I can teach most of SOE or Verant how their game works in 2003 (not sure they would understand), CoX I could prolly compare to their senior staff and testers.

"Playing" to me is log in and made a character that set foot in the starter area. Sometimes, that's all it takes to know if a game is for you or not
Knowledgeable in an MMO? That is totally up to you No judgements here, just curiosity

clientbased mmogs since 1998 including alpha & betatests around 50. from these 50 i bought 17. 11 of them i played longer than a month and only 6 longer than a year ... star wars galaxies (3y), eve online (8y) , everquest II (2y), lord of the rings online (2y), istaria (1y) and ultima online free rp shard (2y). browserbased mmogs i played 5. none of them more than a week.
Looking at the game list here at MMORPG.com, there are 598 listed. Some are not released yet, I am sure some small Indy MMOs are missing and some MMOs have closed their doors. For numbers sake, let's say 600 games (makes for easy percentage calculations).
I know many posters have played quite a few and with the F2P MMOs put out today, many are making it easier to play many MMOs.
Giving your best guesstimate, How many of the MMOs listed have you played or tried out?
For the purpose of the poll percentages: If you've played a beta (closed or open) and the game has not released yet, count it. If you've played an alpha and the game has not released yet, count it. If the game has closed down, count it. Since the actual number of games is not exact (and you've played over 540 MMOs) you get to say, "I've played 100%!"
There is a huge difference between AAA mmo's, browser games, bad imports etc. I have tried almost all of the 'quality' mmo's listed on here and that probably amounts to 20-30. The numerous cash grab imports and browser crap; I barely even noticed they were listed on this site. I think you need to redo the poll removing the wheat from the chaff.

Who gets to decide what is chaff and what is the wheat? Someone is playing (and hopefully enjoying) every MMO on that list.
I am just curious how many of the MMOs listed folks have played. Not looking for for "good, bad, or indifferent" MMOs, just what people have played.
I kind of like that this post is not filled with opinions about the MMOs, just whether or not people have played them

True, it is all subjective; I was just saying that with such huge numbers in the poll it probably renders most of the options redundant.
I've been playing online games since 1999 and i've think I've totaled somewhere between 30-40 MMOs. Kind of interesting that this only scratches the surface of the amount on the game's list.
Hmm, I played MMORPGs since the WoW Beta (excluding MUDs prior to that).
So, let's see... WoW, TR, FE, AOC, WAR, Tera, Rift, Requiem Bloodymare, Neverwinter, GW1, GW2, TSW, Eve, Firefall beta, Atlantica ... Hmm... did I miss anything? I guess I missed one or two. Still... that's a dozen MMORPGs I played over the course of roughly a decade. And many of them I've just played for a few hours, not more.
And some people claim they have player hundreds? Makes no sense to me. Still, I guess many people on such polls exaggerate, even if the polls are anonymous, so that they feel superior or awesome or whatever. *shrugs*

Well maybe you found the type of games you liked, others are still looking. I loved the old games but they are sadly dying, getting infested with bots and there is nowhere for people like me to go currently. Well maybe EVE but I prefer fantasy over sci fi. I've been trying most of those games looking for a group of features I enjoyed or hoped that I would enjoy it anyway because it was different in some way. Sad to say that isn't the case. Only ones I really enjoyed is, Tibia, L2, Priston tale and EVE.

Huge majority of titles don't fulfill my most fundamental and basic requirements, so pointless to take time to install them.

approx 82 (+maybe 10 more or so (probably even more)).
I played a lot of games, I think this polls scale was a bit wrong honestly, 1-60 as the first %? come on it should have been like 1-20 or so.
Hmm, I played MMORPGs since the WoW Beta (excluding MUDs prior to that).
