Years worth, straight out the box. Gear progression, skill progression, profession progression, achievement progression, every type of progression you can think of. Progression in all directions
I hope this progression takes time. Progression, I can sink my teeth in. Look at a new player and reminisce when you where that young, kind of progression.

Progression for progressing?
*You Have Progressed in Progression* +1 Progression Progress!
There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"
Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.
-unemployed people playing 20 hrs a day to reach max level in 3 months
Are you saying that people will chew through the content so fast that more content will need to be made with higher gear tiers? Why? The certainly does not have to be the case. I disagree.
I agree 100% with your second sentence.
Well if you just want progress for progress sake you can always just play Progress quest, so much there and with very little effort, you got tons of classes and you can progress in quests, loot, monster killing, all those things you want, plus you can do it while you sleep now thats progress
Obvious the above is not meant to be taken seriously, while I like progress of some sort if the game fails in any of it's pillars like telling it's story or the world design looks bad or I can't play it right, no amount of progress or there lack of will fix that. I'm looking forward to EQNext to see what is next in store for Norrath, plus i'm hoping they do a sandbox correctly, I'm hoping they do something like A tale in the desert where you can build your house and put machines (you can replace that with furniture or whatever else) anywhere, but with combat with the restrictions in place like they have in Age of Wushu when it comes to PvP.
Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.
Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.
For me the key is "endless" progression. I don't want a max level, best gear, highest stats, biggest house, max crafting etc. I want it to be a continued progression that isn't leading anywhere. No end game or point really to the game in general. Just to have fun and adventure however we choose.
yep
This is exactly opposite of what I want. I want adventure, challenge and socialization.
I don't want daily requirements, I don't want any kind of grind whether level, stat or skill. Progression should follow fun and adventure, not the other way around. Make the fun last long enough to progress our characters.

I'm baffled that anyone could vote "no" to this poll. You all scream for exciting end game content, but the catch is; once you stop progressing you have achieved "end game."
I want to advance every day I'm playing (and not daily quests or battleground or any of that BS). Weather its from gaining combat exp, alternate advancement points, faction towards an unfriendly or friendly race to let me in their city, crafting progression, etc. I never want to feel as is i log in and can no longer progress my character, once that happens I'm gone.
Thankfully, this is exactly what EQN is trying to prevent, the locus who burn through the progress so they need to keep up churning out content. With everything EQ was it took YEARS to cap out and by that time 10 new expansions had come out.
And no I must certainly don't not want ludacris amounts of quests / quest hubs, this is not what EQ has ever been. Character progression is the name of the game folks.

Well the way I read the original post was:
Progression = Grind
It's what I think of when people talk about progression. If it was mob progression then I'd have probably said yes, but gear progression, skill progression and level progression all mean grind to me.
Asdar
I concur whole heartedly with multiple types of progression.
In Asheron's Call we had Luminance, Aetheria, Cloaks, Rares and Aug Gems.
Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!
Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!
Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!
I'd actually enjoy lots of every kind of progression EXCEPT gear progression.
I wanted to vote yes to progression, but not knowing how progression was being defined halted me from answering yay or nay. If you are talking progression in leveling up character, hunting mobs, training up skills and trade skills, that all take a decent but reasonable amount of time, then I'm all for it.
However, if progression means. Hunt raid X till you get all the gear needed for the next tier, only to do that again, I'm really against that. Thinking of current EQ1 and VoA expansion, I really hate having to constantly grind fights, language, etc to be able to go to the next tier, and rinse and repeat.
I miss hearing about when a group raided a certain mob for the first time, not knowing the mechanics of the fight, and wiped nearly right away. Maybe they were lucky and someone else wasn't killing the mob and they could try again. It made fights meaningful. You also, depending on your guild, didn't have to raid constantly just to get gear. If you could only do a raid a month, and you won the roll on a specific drop, you won. No worry about how many points you had earned from all previous raids. Wait, where am I heading in this conversation.
Oh well, there is going to be some type of progression to this game or any game of this genre, it just depends on how they implement it that will matter
