Extended Beta Test Begins July 10th (For Reals)

Upcoming Beta Test Schedule: Jul. 10th 2:00 a.m. to Jul. 15th 2:00 a.m. (PDT) / Jul. 10th 9:00 to Jul. 15th 9:00 (GMT)

* Beta test phase 3 will conclude on Monday, July 15th. The beta test phase 4 schedule will be announced at a later time.
* Testing of the new Lodestone will conclude on Wednesday, July 17th at 2:00 a.m. (PDT) / 9:00 a.m.(GMT). Please note that the new Lodestone will be inaccessible when testing has ended.

There are the basics guys. Check out the rest on the forums.

Additional Notes:

  • Character Data From Beta Test Phase 3
    All character data will be deleted at the end of beta test phase 3. Although character data from Version 1.0 will also be deleted, data from the final save on October 31, 2012 will be transferred again at the beginning of beta test phase 4.
  • The Beta Test Phase 3 Client
    The client for beta test phase 3 cannot be used for beta test phase 4 or official service. Please delete the client at the end of this beta test phase.
  • Character Appearance Data
    Character appearance data saved during beta test phase 3 can be used when creating a character during beta test phase 4 and official service. Those who wish to use their appearance data should not delete the following folder:
    • Windows
      My Documents -> My Games -> FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn (Beta Version)
    • PlayStation®3
      (From "XMB") Game → Saved Data Utility (PS3TM)

      * Save data cannot be used after phase 4, and can safely be deleted.

    No this is the test, before the test, which lets you keep your characters.

    I have had 3 chances to get beta keys and still don't have one.

    1 person wanted to sell me a key

    2 people wanted to have someone to group with as a condition of getting a key...and  the times I have to play are unpredictable at this time. .......so i could not accept their offer.

    This is awesome news. I wish I didn't have to work Friday, but the no end date sounds awesome. I won't have to play 16 hours on Saturday to get my fix. My trigger finger and the R1 button were getting tired last week.

    Notice the little swipe at america? Starting the day after we all have the fourth off. BOO SE BOO

    Any graphical, audio, or gameplay restrictions not seen in other mmos but found in FFXIV can be blamed on one thing.

    This is actually bad news for me. I have been trying very hard to NOT play too much during the beta, but now, with 24/7 access, what the hell am I going to do?!?!?!?!

    What A swipe!!!!........ they are letting us get drunk with friends and family the 4th and as we get over our hangovers (the next day) we can diddle around in the beta on the 5th and onwards.....

    Im still confused. I know the start date is the 5th, on friday. Wasnt this like every other test? Starts on friday?

     

    Not sure why they didnt post an end date. Maybe they just forgot? I dont see why they would all of the sudden add a month long beta test for this...

     

    I would love it to be a long beta test, but not sure someone isnt just toying with me.

    As awesome as this is, the inevitable character wipe before beta 4 makes me not want to play it.  I hate spending so much time on a character I can't keep.

    I want the story and the game to still be fresh for me when it actually releases.  I am doing my best to avoid it right now.  This just got a lot harder!  I would play Square $50 to keep my character through the transition >.>

    This is not possible because phase 3 contains a lot of placeholder content you have likely already done, so you would never see the actual intended content or get the intended triggers for certain questlines etc.

    Reading comprehension problem?? What part of  "Testing details, such as when the duty finder will become available and also the closing schedule of the next Beta test, we will be making another announcement before the test begins." made no sense? They never stated it wouldn't be the "same 2 days as before" just that they haven't made the announcement YET. Maybe it will be extended , maybe not. But to make the statement it will be an "extended beta test" with out 100% proof is bogus.

    Do you guys know if buying (pre-ordering) will grant access to the beta?  I'm reading conflicting reports and wondering if its best just to wait till Open Beta to try it out or try and snag a key by pre-ordering.  I've tried my luck at finding a PC NA beta key through other means, but haven't had any luck yet.

    How could you not before? Ive facerolled all but the final two, got insta pops on duty finder every time.

    Any graphical, audio, or gameplay restrictions not seen in other mmos but found in FFXIV can be blamed on one thing.
