Am I the only one who always goes itchy when the previews of a MMORPG sound just that inch too good to be true? The only who always see a MouRning-style ripoff or a semi-Vaporware in the future?
I mean, it's kinda the same with Darkfall - it sounds sooooo awesome. But exactly that makes me feel so uncomfortable
How do others think about this?

Rushed? proves how much you know DnL has been in development over about 4 years.
So was Shadowbane. Proves how little you know about MMORPGs in general. But by all means I'm sure you'll be just as happy with your DnL pre-order as you were with your Mourning pre-order. Don't allow me to get in the way.
Well, considering that Clan beta is just around the corner for Darkfall's I would say things are well on their way, so its no Vaporware. Many people thought Shadowbane was going to be vaporware but it wasnt. The reason it kinda of bombed as a game was because It was Released Unfinnished. Network Lag was horrible and the empire/city building idea wasnt well thought out. Cities could be built up over a few weeks and burned down in an hour.
Darkfall has different ideas to keep the excitement of City building and conquest up and the dissapointment of loss down. Cities can never be fully destroyed. Theres more to it, than that. but Ill go into it later.
Ok I found what I was looking for to help explain what they are kinda doing for City building over in the chatroom. Claus is one of the main developers for Darkfall, Here is what he said in one of the Darkfall Developer Chats:

So basically a Player city will be really hard to kill off completely, especially with the whole Double Digit Hours needed to raze just one building. What you can do instead of Raze it, is take the buildings and use them for yourself. It is always an option.
Im also very excited about this game almost to the point where i have to reign myself in so i wont be letdown to badly if it is bug ridden and unplayable....
I'd bet the odds are about even that this game launches before DnL.
Nobody even knows the status of DnL because the devs are silent and lock the boards regularly.
