Custom PC advice

Anyone here have any experience with AVA Direct, Digital Storm or Origins PC? I know I can save money if i build myself. I just don't feel like doing it this time. I was reading reviews about all 3 and for the most part, all good reviews. Just wanted to see if anyone had a rig built for them and how did it turn out?

I know of the 3, people on here seem to like AVA more.  I think they offer a good amount of choices, usually a little more than most other build sites.  If they are competitive money wise, I would say they would be a good choice to your other options.

I would post here what you want to have built, and people can offer advice.  You will of course get the people saying to build it yourself, but if you are dead set on not doing it, people can move on and offer advice on your build I am sure.

I will say, I was thinking of only getting a SSD drive, as I do not use a ton of space, but I am glad when I built my computer that I put a 1TB HD on also, on top of the 256 GB SSD.  I did not have over 256 GB on my old computer, but I can see where space may of become a worry later and it is nice to have that extra room, and if one goes out, you have a backup to keep things running till you can fix the problem.

    Digital storm seems nice

    Origins also.

I build my own alot cheaper same result but if you want them to build i say digital or origin you have alot good choices and both seems quality so you cant go wrong here.

Digital Storm and Origin are two of the more popular Boutique builders while AVA Direct falls more in line with the a basic quality online builder/vendor.

Another way to think about it would be like comparing Lexus to Honda.  Both offer quality vehicles (same company in this case which is not true for the computer companies we are comparing but you get the idea) but one tends to have a few more options and comes with a "status" the other simple can't match.  And yet Honda's Accord speaks for itself in terms of a great value of the money based on YEARS of excellent sales/reviews both by professionals and owners alike.

That is what boutique builders bring to the table.  You will pay more in most cases but tend to get a quality product the companies are willing to back with good customer service.  However that doesn't mean you can't find a good quality product from a non-boutique company.

With all that said if I was in the market for a new system and truly didn't want to build my own and found a setup to my liking at AVA Direct I would go with them.  "Status" on my PC holds little value to me as it's rarely seen by anyone but me to begin with.
