A trend I have been noticing here on DnL and no where else

We've been noticing a trend on the DnL forums here at mmorpg.com. It seems that a few of you (you know who you are) loves to take a normal thread about DnL or some other question that original poster has about DnL and then really tries to derail the entire thread.
We do not mind people having a different opinion about a game. We do not mind if you post why you do not like the game or why you like the game.
What we DO MIND is the fact that some of you just loves to get into a post and then post a comment simply to rile up the crowd. Many times (over 90% easy) your comments has NOTHING to do with the thread title.
Many of us know of your opinions (as we've seen hundreds of posts stating you do not like the game) but we need you to refrain from taking a thread that has nothing to do with "share me your opinions about the game" and then tailoring it to your own little agendas.
Many of you have started your own posts of why you dont like the game or why this and that and it is fine. Im not upset over that. Just refrain from going into a thread that has nothing to do about your opinion of the game and then posting about how you hate it. I mean, seriously.... i think everyone here already knows how much you guys hate it.
This thread wasn't created because of the negative posts many of you posts, rather the sincere disrespect you have for the other side (this goes for people who like DnL too). I have seen way too many flames, and trollish comments, I have seen people resort to petty finger pointing and name calling and Ive seen people post for the sheer enjoyment of knowing they are pissing someone off on the other end.
Share your opinions about the game but dont hijack a thread and dont belittle those who like the game. Again, this goes for people who like the game,....dont flame those who do not like it.
I've locked more posts in the DnL section than any other section of these entire website. Just mellow out a bit and take deep breaths. When you say this game sucks, essentially, you are preaching to the choir as every single one of us has read over 100 posts about the same comments from the same posters.
Be courteous of the other people despite your opinions on the game

If you think this is bad, just wait until Dec. 8th when the truth about DnL hits the community full frontal. Since posting criticism about the game is forbidden on the official DnL forums, plenty people will post it here. What will you do? Lock/delete/ban all these people like they do on the official DnL forums?

Obviously you havn't visited the official DnL forum in a while. They don't even bother explaining anymore why they lock threads - they just post some lame-ass comment and then lock threads. If you label everything "trolling" and "flaming" then it's easy to lock whatever you wish - that's how it works on the official forums at least. They have no clear rules whatsoever or they don't follow them. Take me for example - they perma-banned me after 1 warning
because I was a high-profile poster and critical of DnL. Not that I mind - I still have plenty forum accounts that are not banned

Or maybe the banned you cause every single post of yours has a hateful tone and 1 warning for such a hateful besserwisser like you is one too much.

Aquestion here En1gma, if a fanboy posts something like This game will put WoW, and SWG out of business, am: I allowed to post, don't I don't think so fanboy" even if the thread is about screenies or whatever? See my last post in facts screenshots etc for a example.
The bottom line is that both these forums and the official DnL forums are really starting more and more to resemble the Mouning forums here and on their official site before that game exploded so I understand your concern here.

I have some news for you. SoG "IS" DNL. It's just an unfinished DnL. Don't you SEE? They simply sold what they HAD and than said they will finish the rest in 6 more months.

En1gma is right, and I have been guilty of letting my emotions get the best of me on this site too.
Just try to keep it about the game, and don't let those who are full of hatred get the best of you. When you go off on them on a personal basis, they win and you lose. These are, after all, games. It's hard for me to keep my emotions in check too, especially when I run into someone who wants only to crap all over a game with no proof or even biased conjecture, just pure hateful words. But I'm working on it.

you can talk negatively against the game. It's their right to voice an opinion against the game just as it is your right to voice an opinion for the game.
What isn't allowed is if they (or you) resort to personally attacking another member for liking the game or disliking it (personally attacking means the immature name calling).
Purposely post a comment in a thread for the sheer sake of topic Hijacking (i.e., a thread called "Which class are you going to play" with a poll. Then someone posts "DnL is gay." ) That is against our rules because that comment has nothing to do with the Thread's subject and it's only purpose is to incite anger.
Then you have the common sense forum rule stuff like spamming (creating 14 threads in a row with one liners...oftentimes not maing any sense), Using foul language (the dredded four letter F-bomb isnt allowed), vulgar sexual comments, breaking various companies NDA, posting info about illegal downloads, demos, free servers, etc.

Thats mainly the definition of trolling posting controversial stuff so the whole thing turns into a fight, thats what happens when all those trolls talk bad about a game they havent seen yet

It will be good to have the problem posters here on DnL forums moderated. I am in full support of the position.
You will need to be strict. Giving any the benefit of the doubt will negate your efforts. Even this thread has posts which are off topic and soley here for negative jabs at the DnL project. If you make claims to not allow such posts but then allow some, the problem will continue.
Please error on the side of being too strict, rather than too lax, at least for the short term. It will greatly enhance the ability to get information and have discussions.

The Mods opn the DnL forums are some of the worst. They are taking almost every critical post of DnL and either locking it or deleting it. When they lock it they call the posters trolls. Although the last few days they don't seem as active as they were right before the pre-order went on sale. Regardless of whether you think DNL is good or bad its hard not see how much the offficial boards have been sanitized and cleansed by the moderators to only allow rosy happy views of DnL.
far be it for me to post anything nice about DnL but it appears they have backed off on the heavy handed moderation a bit. In a quick scan of the first four pages all the threads that I saw locked were ones that I would have locked myself if I were a mod there. Looks like one of the mods no names mentioned of course but the one with the big ego ...cough cough... must have gotten a reprimand.
But on the other hand I never bother to post over there anymore. For along time here anything that wasn't a goody goody isn't DnL wonderfull now lets go swing on the devs scrotums post was locked or deleted.
