Have to agree with your first point.  His concept is way to powerful.  Which means the writers have to come up with even more outrageous stuff to challenge him.  Unlike say Ironman who is just a human in a suit. Though I admit the last movie was really stupid because Stark could of just initiated the house party from the word go.

Back to the new movie.  At first when I saw the previews for the movie I was fairly excited. Though as I got to read and see more about it my anticipation fell off.  I'll watch the movie when it comes out on dvd. I'm not  running out to a theater for it.

It all breaks down for me to:

    - I cant stand 90% of all origin stories, because... I don't care. I want to see Batman, or Superman or Darth Vader. I dont CARE what they did in their childhood beyond some basic facts.

    - I think today's action movies are overly serious with zilch sense for humor. Waaaay to bleak.

    - Why is EVERY hero now a sort of "broken hero"? It was cool when there were one or two, like Wolverine and the Watchmen guys. But now even Superman is a broken hero type. Sorry. LAAAAME by now.

    - I have seen too many "alien invasions destroying cities" over the top action movies. I just cant see it anymore. I simply cant.

But watch my vid, these notes may sound a bit incoherent otherwise.

I did watch your video.   That's just the one that really stuck out.  You talked about it fairly early on and only thing I really related too. Sure I agree with some of the other points you brought up but that one was "it" for me.  Truthfully never been into comic books.  So don't expect a lot out of me. I watch the movies simply because they are entertaining.  He's to strong of a character. He's a god.  If he were real his biggest concerns in life are the choices for who he saves and doesn't.  That's pretty much it.

Would you let a bit of rock, your only weakness just lay around on the planet. Taking into account  all the abilities which he has at his disposal. What exactly can he not do or prevent? He's really going to just sit there and let someone plot against him.  Wait until they execute their plots and then act only after the plot has been executed? He can listen in on the whole world. That's my biggest problem with characters like Superman.

Broken hero, origin, aliens is all they have with someone like him.  Well it's not all they have....  Anything that deals with humans as the enemy is absurd.  The whole Lex Luthor thing is absurd.  Not to say I can't get past all that and still enjoy the movie if it's well thought out and there aren't to many glaring issues smacking me in the face.  That said I wanted to see it. However  something just lowered my enthusiasm for the new movie.

Maybe Ironman 3 had something to do with that?  That movie screwed the pooch before even getting started.  Was honestly shocked at just how bad and poorly thought it seemed to be.  So maybe that's it.  "If they screwed Ironman 3 up so bad what are they gonna do with a god?"  I can not get past the fact that Stark forgot about his little army when the initial attack came.  There's no way around it.  It had to be mostly built already.

Also: watch it with your heart and not your brain. I really can't understand people that Expect "sth enlightening" from the movies lol. That's why I love Willis/Stallone/Schwarzenegger/Seagal-they are simply fun to watch! Meanwhile I can't watch mental diarrhea of "the Godfather"/"Apocalypse now" type more than once per decade lol.

Meh to each his own I guess. I was totally satisfied by Man of Steel and would recommend it to everyone w

It has nothing to do with looking for something enlightening for me. It has to do with enjoying a movie that doesn't expect me to be completely brain dead. For example: No issues with The Avengers, Ironman one and two. However, Ironman 3 was pretty much shit. He had an Ironman army the whole movie but waited until the end to use it. Not when his house was being blown to shit?

How about Rhodes' suit being completely useless up until Rhodes climbed up to President Ellis.  All Rhodes had to do is touch and arm and the suit was just fine?  Guessing that's the one suit out of the whole lot that Jarvis couldn't interface with either. Nevermind he did in the previous movie..

Tony needed implants why exactly? Jarvis apparently could pilot all those suits at the same time, fight with them all at the same time, not to mention bring Tony any suit he wanted as he bounced in and out of them on a seconds notice?

I don't know if Man of Steel has these sorts of issues or not. I rather not pay another $50-$100 in order to find out if they told the story of a god whose only weakness is a rock any better.  I'll wait for it  to come out on dvd. That way there will be very little lost if so. I sound like I'm being overly critical. Usually I'm not.  It's a snowball effect that when a movie has such a horrible oversight I get even more critical of it. :(

Why thank you! I always enjoyed reading or speaking. Look at my channel, I read quite a bit. One Sherlock Holmes recently, one old them old Hardy Boys books and whatnot. I really wish I could work in that genre, but alas I wouldn't know where to start. ^^
