I have just downloaded the game and played about 45 minutes, before I sink any more time in, other than being female is there any way not to be a big giant square dude?

I don't usually like playing as giant muscle dudes in any game and this game didn't seem to give me any other choice.

Thought it was a bit cheap to tell you about further customisation in the tutorial but 90% of those options cost real money, so I am not even 20 minutes in to the game and I am already being asked to get my wallet out.

    i agree with OP.

    I am ok with having a million character customiztion options in a cash shop AS LONG AS there is plenty of free ones to choose from when making my characters.

    CC in Firefall right now is horribly limited unless you pay. THey need to provide  more free options for every piece of customiztion and then add a bunch more for cash.

     

    That applies for every f2p game. Not counting payed games because those should have them all free.
