So how big will the pvp be?

I just wanted to know how big the RvR/pvp games will be, i think it said that thousands of players could be on the battlefield but im not sure, and i really hope many ppl get this game so it can have a f***ing huge community.

    Ever played planetside?  Noticed how sometimes battles had waaaaay too many people, but at other times not so many at all? It'll be that way, but hopefully more medianed.  Chip Wars happen every 8 hours, but nobody's required to attend.  in the phillipine beta, the Accretian empire is mostly just leveling up and skipping mine wars because at level 30 (where most people are right now) the Bellato union dominates totally with their mechs, and cora/accretia can't compete until 40ish.

    (it takes only a few days to get to 30, but many weeks to go from 30-50)

    I just hope it isn't just a normal zerg fest or an organized zerg fest. Coming from WoW's Battlegrounds that's what it all seem like. I hope there willl be pvp encounters in 1v1 1v2 and makeing it requires skill to do so.

    Keep in mind that it was a beta and they needed people to get to level 30 fast.

    Rates whont change in Philipines RF online they where high enought and whill stay this way, they already posted that somewhera on their forum's, and as for NA/UK they should be close to PH RF to reduce grind that players could enjoy PVP.

    What bugs me is that I read in another thread that despite being group/team oriented, only the death-blow actually gets the reward for the kill. That really doesn't fly with me. Why not just duplicate the credit to everyone that dealt some minimum damage? Or adjust the credit based on damage done, your level, and the average level dealt by the team? Or something.

    Really it seems like you ought to make a character optimized for jumping in and finishing off guys. So the people who are actually doing the majority of the work don't get anything and the self-serving weasel levels up.

    The system you speak of is almost in every MMORPG game so I think that it will be here too.
    5 people in the group kill someone they all get xp but person who dealt more damage gets more xp.

    XP(general xp) in RFO is 'hit based'. Leveling your PT comes by using your weapon/taking dmg whatever. Skill xp comes by using skills. RFO xp & char system is much deeper then it might look at the beginning.

    Forget that. RFO isnt about 1v1. It works with large scale numbers. Of course apart fromt he chip war you could go into general territorys and kill the other race which is there xp'ing or whatever. You also could sneak into the race HQ zone and try killing newbies. It is possible and part of the game. You also could camp specific spots that other races have to pass.
    Remember, every dirty trick is allowed in war. ::::39::

    gg all there will be 1v1 if u look at my comment it clearly stats how the pvp works and such
    the one gets the last hit kind of bugs me as well but dont forget this is only a beta. RF online isnt gonna go all out for a beta. the wars are gonna be massive all those screen shots did not show the real numbers but in the little comments he put there were over 400+ just he had it on low settings for lag purposes @_@ so expect hc wars. i will be the cora nation dont fack with me =0

    On the other side of the coin, if everyone gets a little credit for the kill in pvp then you end up with the situation in WoW where people with multitarget spells like ice storm/chain lightning et al earn a lot more PVP score than a single target fighter.

     

    The grind wont change much in the us/uk version I dont think.. it'll be fast to 30 then slow down.  The armor and weapons are spaced out in level requirements in such a way that it's the sensible way to do it...
