I love pvp, for me i only buy mmo's wit great pvp... does this game offer fun pvp or carebear small battles?
So far this game looks tight, and by the way how many ppl play Battlegrounds and how many ppl do raids?
If this is a great pvp game and great teaming game i will get it.

Theres a 10man CTF bg, 15man bg thats kinda like unrealtournement, and a 40man battleground where u work your way through a valley destroying the other teams outpost and stuff till you kill there commander....or get bored and /afk out like i usually do.
My experience has varied with different servers. I tend to prefer PvP outside of BGs. The server I tend to play on most, Azgalor, has fairly active 'outdoor' PvP.
My advice is to try to 10 day trail. If you manage to make it into the mid 20's you'll be able to join the Warsong Gulch Battleground. That's a Capture The Flag bg with a cap of 10 players, I believe, on each side. The larger battelegrounds of Alterac Valley and Arathi won't be available until you reach lvl 50.
Lol, I guess you could include Stranglethrorn Vale as a defacto BG.
Edit: If you want to get into PvP quickly, I'd suggest either of the following classes: rogue, druid, or priest. Both the rogue and druid classes allow you to stealth, and you get some face melting goodness with a shadow spec'd priest.

If your looking for PVP World Of Warcraft is where it's at other than DAOC. The PVP honor system is for hardcore players only, if your going into it casual look the other way. Other than that it's a badass game.

BG is same like fps a instance playing over and over again its boring and not realy pvp as in asheron calls or shadowbane or daoc.
Out doors pvp can be nice but even with sometimes 15 thousend peeps on server you can almost savely solo outdoors becouse al are in instance pvp/pve.
wow is not realy a good open pvp game not realy hardcore BG is for casual to get easy way nice rank.
But wow is casual not for hardcore pve/pvp so if you realy hardcore dont play wow.

This game, isn't really PvP, I'm sorry, if your interested in PvP, you should try out Guild Wars. A fun game with lots and lots of fun PvP. Or quite possibly DAoC

The PvP is a joke in WoW. PvP servers are pointless as you will just end up grinding rep in a Battleground (which you can do on a PvE server), and dishonor kills killed outdoor raiding (which was fun). This game is good for hardcore PvE with lots of endgame instances to get items, but PvP gets boring fast as your just going to a battlefield that resets every so often.

Well there is really no large scale battles as most ppl are in Battlegrounds which are 10,15 or 40 vs same number in a smallish area.
Also i dunno what carebear means(one of the weird words of mmorpg which has 10000 meanings) but there is no looting if thats what you are after.
You can reputation and honor points for pvping and can eventually exchange them for items.
