Is it possible to just craft in ff arr?

Back when v1.0 originally launched I noticed a lot of people just standing around crafting. I wonder how people managed to get the money to craft so quickly.

I like the way the crafting is in this game, and kinda been wondering if I should just be focusing on that or adventuring at the start. Not really sure atm, all mmo's I've played I've never really done much crafting untill several months after the game has launched. FFXI I literally didn't get into crafting until after a year from when it launched....

Will crafting be really usfull if I focus on that from the get go, or will I be ok if I just adventure and kill stuff, while avoiding crafting for awhile?

Not really shure how I should be beginning this game, but for the people who absulutly love to just craft, would it be posable to be a full- time crafter in this game?

You can start as crafter and the first few crafting quests all involve materials you can buy at the crafting guild(s). You will get your basic gear and some more cash.

At some point around quest 4-5 you will need to get materials and items from other crafting classes, obtained through gathering or through adventuring. It is up to you how you proceed from there.

You can either decide to pay for the ingredients or get them yourself while training another class. I prefer the later and just get all the items myself simply because it is so much more fun to go out and do all these different things instead of just sitting there in the crafting guild grinding quests and items.

If you do this you will eventually end up with a huge variety of crafting/gathering/adventuring classes. It's very rewarding.

    Enjoy the game.

I had two crafts level50 in 1.0, is was very easy just very boring. I did Alc and wood working and never made any money out of it. Around 48-50 i just did crafting leves also a lot of people used macro keyboards.

I've only played 2.0 on ps3 beta and only for around 10minutes, The plus will be, been able to repair your own gear and I would definitely pick up tailoring and weaving. I believe those two crafts made the most money back in 1.0

Yes, but you would need to level up some gathering jobs for materials etc.

You would have to level a battle class to at lease 10 first, then you can craft all you like.  More then likely, you'll need to level up gathering classes as well to help with the crafting classes.

No, unless you want to do no storyline after lvl 10.

Any graphical, audio, or gameplay restrictions not seen in other mmos but found in FFXIV can be blamed on one thing.

Crafting, Gathering and Adventuring go together very well in ARR. I like the mix. After level 10 in your adv. class you can go all out on crafting. Not sure how much money you will make off it alone tho.

IF your the crafter for a (guild) FC, Im sure you can go all out on just crafting. You'll just miss out on the rest of the game.
