The PRISM reveal have opened a lot of EU eyes (usually US tailwaggers) for the need of a supported, non-US based OS. This may have been the "one step too far" a lot of people have been waiting to happen.
Most EU citizens work just like US citizens: OK so this is an X-country law enforced for all busineses from X-country... But if it ALSO applies to all Y-country residents using a product from X-country: Lets just develop our own similar/identical product without the X-contry constaints/espionage payload.
Trust among friends suffered a loss... Economies of both sides will notice.
