I kinda miss really playing a MMORPG. So I considered to go back to one. Can't really decide though. None seems to be perfect. The ones I consider returning to would be Fallen Earth, Rift, WoW, GW2 or Tera.
Fallen Earth:
+ great music
+ great landscapes
+ great crafting
- I'm stuck with my character. I want to respec to ranged weapons, but I don't have a good ranged weapon. I also can't afford a ranged weapon. Even my ranged weapon crafting skill sucks. So I'd have to go back to lower level areas, farm crafting materials, skill up my ranged weapon crafting, craft a good ranged weapon, and respec. But that takes a huge amount of time.
Rift:
+ have only a character of about level 33, so lots of stuff still to see
+ I like the character models
+ the graphics are overall ok, same as the sound and everything
+ housing
- it's very generic, has zero replayability, you have zero choices on where to go, and I read that on higher levels, you are basically forced to macro
WoW
+ I got one max level character, but haven't seen any MOP raids and only a few of the dungeons
+ well, it's the only MMORPG I played for a really long time, so it's "home" somewhat"
+ the challenge mode coming with the next patch seems to be fun
- it's old, in a lot of ways, graphic and gameplay wise
GW2
+ seen only a small part of the game
+ graphics and sound is nice
+ skill system is interesting
- not really interested in PvP
- bumping constantly into the cash shop, be it regarding the small number of character slots (I like to try out a lot of stuff and have a lot of characters) or the tiny bank
Tera
+ interesting combat
+ good graphics
- boring questing
- very linear
Which of those would you return to?
Let's play Fallen Earth (blind, 300 episodes)
Let's play Guild Wars 2 (blind, 45 episodes)

I will play one of these besides WoW with you if you're looking to get back to the game and have some social-ness as well. I have never played Fallen Earth and Tera never got far cause didnt like the linear model the games has. But anyway if you find a game you're extremely interested in pm me or email me man. Looking for an MMO to play myself.
Nothing you go back will hold your interest, unless you have others to go with you.
I really liked TSW, but it ran out of content, wish it would of done better, so they could of come out with content faster. Thought of going back to it, if you have not tried it, maybe give it a shot.
I am in a two week hold, waiting on news of EQ Next. Thought of going back to EQ and making a new character and mess around till EQN comes out.
This is true. Probably the only reason that my husband and I were in WoW as long as we were. We kept meeting new friends IRL that would have guilds, and we'd join them, then do a bunch of raiding. When most left, or nobody was around anymore, we dropped from the game, too. The worlds are not enough by themselves anymore, unless you have friends to share it with. It's one of those dark times in MMO history, and best not to travel alone.
I've played a lot of the early and even first MMOs, as well as recent.. They had a different soul about them, but these days they are dying, and very quickly. I think the environments use to be more enticing when we knew there weren't 50+ others just around the corner to explore. We banded together, and had an adventure. Most social features have been stripped from all MMOs, like the use of group and raid finders. Nobody has reason to speak anymore. I think we're all starting to realize just how important the social aspect of gaming in this industry was.

Depending on what level you got to, respecing is probably not the easiest or cheapest way to go. You would be be better off to start a new character. Buying one item from the marketplace gets you Freemium and allows up to 3 Toons. That is how I would recommend doing it.
However I agree with others here. You are not going to be satisfied with any of them. In FE , going to an area and farming materials and using them to learn crafting, is basically called "playing the game". And yet you complain about "time". I could take your complaints and apply them to any MMO. You quit playing for a reason and the reason was, you weren't enjoying the game.
How is going back to any game now, going to change that fact?
