    City of.....

    I miss all of it.

If it had been slightly less "quest-hubby", it could have been better, but I think for its time it was perfect.

I am still hating on NC because of the closure, although I was not really a fan of Incarnate Trials.

    SWG at launch.

EQ2 Nagafen launch... before they added in all the stupid arenas etc.

Sometimes I miss FFXI... then I remember their economy.  I think I miss "aspects" of every game I played.  I want to take everything good from all games and make one great game from their ruin and ashes.  Can I have nostalgia for the perfect game I see in my head but have never played?

Well I miss some that still exist now but aren't in their golden age anymore.

    DAoC before Trials of Atlantis.

Warhammer at launch was quite fun because it was full of people and there was always a thing going on in all tiers.

World of Warcraft at Burning Crusade because it was the best expansion. Lots to do, challenging but not as frustrating as Vanilla was.

I'm feeling my nostalgic oats remembering the fun I had in Chronicles of Spellborn. It's shut down and was only one of two games I ever asked to be in a beta to check it out early. One of the things I was remembering today was the perfect UI, it didn't need anything changed and wasn't in my way at all. The auto-looting was sweet too. The art style was quirky, asymmetric at times and the combat was unique partially for having a rotating wheel instead of the standard long hotbar. Best of all you couldn't auto-target so it was tougher. Even the quest log was thought out well with selections in the single window. Ah so many times I wish that game would just come back online.

Best video quality I can find for the UI.

Name a game you miss and link some sort of media about it in case people didn't see it.

Spellborn was amazing.. i think it was too far ahead of it's time, i feel that MMO player's weren't quite ready for something so new and unique (despite most people on these forums begging for something just that).

The combat system was better than anything available, it was pretty simple on the surface but had hidden depths.  This was a true action MMO.

The game had a sort of Fable like look to it and the world design was so unique - the areas were shards of a destroyed world, however most of the environments were inside these shards - so when you looked up you didn't see a traditional sky - rather like the insides of Huge caverns with the occasional hole that you could see out of and into the vortex that the shards were located in.  The world was very immersive, a haunting and beautiful place - great sound design and incredible music.

Heres some of my old screenshots :-

    imageimageimageimageimage

And here's a fan made video that i like to watch occasionally - really shows off the world of the game.

    Spellborn - Amazing

And i've found this just now - with lots of the music and ambience from the game in an hour long mix.  Goosebump stuff...

    Sounds of Spellborn

Please, please, please someone re-release it :(

SWG Pre-CU. I even adjusted to the CU and would take that version back as a second most missed, but the NGE version - -that was my BIGGEST MMO disappointment ever. SWG is able to cover the best and worst MMO in one title. image

Dungeon Runners, as silly as it sounds :P I loved to log from time to time and slaughter hordes of minions in the search for rare weapons with extremely weird and funny names.

EQ2 before they raised the first expansion, when the game went nuts on pleasing only the raiders making raiding the only end game content.

EQ................I know, it didn't shut down

But I still like the gameplay, only thing is I cannot play a game with that kind of ancient UI.

Let's see what happens the 2nd of August................

That was the most interesting trailer for a video game I've ever seen. It took me a while, too, I thought the music was put on by the Youtube submitter.

Very peculiar feel for a game like UO, reminds me of Sacrifice. Isn't it supposed to be a nice fantasy game? What's with the elevator into the sky?

    Favorite MMO: Vanilla WoW
    Currently playing: GW2, EVE
    Excited for: Wildstar, maybe?

OP you really brought back memories and made me nostalgic for TcOS. That and Dark & Light are two MMO's I wish could've been given time to grow. Unfortunately both were released unfinished and met their demise soon thereafter.

City of heroes. It wasn't a game I could play for months at a time but I did enjoy playing it casually. Too bad so many other people did the same thing :P

Pre-NGE SWG. If those idiots had balanced the game and fixed the bugs, this game would have subs in the millions and I'd happily be buying an expansion every six months.

Those idiots = the people now about to bring out EQN

AO before Shadowlands and WoW before The Burning Crusade. Mostly because of the people I played with. I fully acknowledge that those time would never come back even if those games were revived at that specific point of development.

    Conquer Online 1.0!!!

The game is still around and pretty popular but there aren't language servers and hardly anyone speaks english anymore.   Also the game has progressively gotten worse and worse after every single patch since the potency update.  The best way I can explain CO is an open world League of Legends with the isometric veiw and skill shots except with jumping which made skill shots very hard to land (and much more fun).   It has to have by far the best PvP system I've ever experienced in any MMO to date hands down.  The PvP itself was extremely cool as well, especially when it got chaotic.

However.  The company behind this game is nothing short of retarded.  I have never seen a company care so little about feedback or their costumers in general.  You aren't even allowed to leave comments in the forums without a moderater reading them first, if it has anything not praising the game they don't even let it get posted.  I mean it sounds good for a forum to not allow any negativity but it doesn't allow anyone to have an opinion they don't agree with.  Today this game gives a whole new definition to Pay2Win.  PWE is probably known to many as the most p2w company on the market today but TQ (publisher of conquer) honestly makes them look like a charity.  If this game had never changed I never would have played another MMO but as it stands, unless you have $300 to throw down (bare minimum) stay away, stay far away.

If WoW was released today even in its' entirety it would be f2p in 3 months.
Why is it still such a big deal?

Lineage 1, it is only available in eastern market and still the biggest success of NCSoft, but it was totally forgotten in west...
