Filoni is clear that his plan is to have the show embrace the “visual language” that fans are familiar with from the Original Trilogy. The idea, as he frames it, is to take Ralph McQuarrie’s recognizable concept art work and render in in CG.

    Hm. Not sure I am interested in that era. I read and watched so much about that time, I really would prefer to move on.

    No way it can be any worse than episodes 1 - 3.  There were points in those movies that were just awkward to watch. The pod racer scene comes to mind.  It looked like George Lucas took Jake Lloyd down to the local Piggly Wiggly popped $0.25 into one of those rockers out front and put a green screen behind it.  Having Jake bob and weave saying those stupid lines.
