The Mighty Quest For Epic Loot..Good Game.Very Broken cash shop

sk8deshisk8deshi Member UncommonPosts: 38
Quest for epic loot has the most pay to win system i have ever seen point blank flat out. It is very blatant from the get go that you need to buy the gen gems. The tutorial guy even cracks a joke about not hording your gems because your going to get more.... WOW. So I finished the tutorial get my castle and exit into the lvl 5-9 newbe are all is fine and dandy. Until you try to attack a fellow lowbe character and find that not only are 95% of all the castle you see are no longer valid with crazy resource gain numbers. The Dungeon stomping itself is fun if you manage to find a real castle. Now on to the pay to win part. Upon finding real castles you probably cannot raid any of them unless you have spent real money.

The sad fact is this is not were we are heading, it is where we are now. The future only holds more of the same as every new MMO seeks to find more ways to abuse its cash shop and older MMOs retrofit any such changes into themselves.

Or you can just enjoy the F2P portions, and ignore the cash shop.

In other news, AAA developments like Destiny and Divison are taking "MMOs" in a different direction. They will be AAA, B2P and may be even not "real" MMOs.

Narius, you have to check out their site. :) There is a specific audience they are shooting for with this one, and it's not you or I.

I really want to believe it's a joke, but i think Ubisoft really is trying to create a whale-only online game.

    And why not ?

Why not make a game that speaks directly to them ?

All very true comments. I do know that all F2P games have there cash shop demons but this game didn't even consider balancing the cash shop to the free or not even so much to the weekend wallet player will have trouble surviving more wealthy players. As a whole the online game industry is evolving. Soon RMT (Real Money Trade) will be an occupation you go to college for and actually work for corporations.

Some people like to pay a fair price for a solid MMO instead of playing a watered-down free-to-play shallow demo.

wow .. i bow to their awesomeness of shameless monetarization.

I suppose it is not a game for me. I am surprised that there are games where you cannot avoid the cash shop if you want to play it.

As this rate, I'm expecting people will soon answer "How did the raid go?" with "Cherry, Cherry, Bar"

If you're expecting a game that's called The Might Quest for Epic Loot to be a serious MMO you aren't going to have a very good time.

Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!

In the future you will be forced to pay Nari, you just don't realise that yet. The free ideology of F2P burns brightly for now, but as I have said before you can't have loads of potential customers logging on and the MMO company not think "hey lets look at a way of getting all those guys to chip in some cash". Lokofeit is also seeing this through todays eyes, so he thinks this is a MMO for whales. This is a push in the direction where everyone pays, we will all be fish in the sea, some paying more than others.

The concept that a game that was F2P needs free players to ensure it is Massive is thrown out of the window here. Just as you do not need free players in a casino to ensure you get lots of players you do not need them in a MMO.

This is a gradual process, I don't expect every MMO to be a casino MMO by next year, but it illustrates something I have tried to get over before. Nothing stands still, if you think cash shops can be bad now, just wait and see how they develop now that they are an accepted part of MMO's.

I love how the name of the world is "Opulencia".

    Opulence -

    1. wealth, affluence.

    2. abundance, as of resources.

    3. the state of being opulent.

    (Free Dictionary by Farlex)

But no less than I love the idea that it's all player-made content LOL.  They don't even try to provide you with a game.  They just give you a frame and a means to outspend each other using it hehehe.

    Gangster.
