That's a really tough one. I liked the trolls in both EQ1 and EQ2.
The trolls in EQ1 were just adorable and cool. The trolls in EQ2 were more beastly and troll-ish though, imo. I guess I'd rather see my trolls looking like actual monstrous trolls, but I could take either one.
I suspect we'll see something completely new. Hopefully, it'll be even better and Troll will continue to be the master race.
On a side note. I watched Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters last night. I really liked the "Troll" character in that movie, but I felt he looked more like an Ogre.
After a period of serene contemplation, and with great remorse, I went with skinny EQ2 trolls.
EQ trolls will always be glorious, but EQ2 trolls do seem more trollish. (EQ2 ogres are awful though, EQ owns there.)
Totally agree with you there. EQ2 killed both ogres and gnomes for me. But, I think the current EQ2 trolls are pretty well done(not the ones in that picture evilized posted).
Don't care because I never played the first 2 games in the franchise. I am here hopefully for the Open World PvE sandbox game I think we all want out of the title. I am not into the whole immersion and lore aspect so will respectfully pass on voting. I just want to see the actual game and gameplay mechanics.
Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!
Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!
Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse. - FARGIN_WAR
The original Troll and Ogre models had character. The "new" models were almost universally worse for every race, with the personal exception of Barbarians. The "new" models were rigid stick figures lacking in any sense of style or character. No personality.

I'm thinking that 2nd set is the luclin models of EQ1? Either that or a really old EQ2 model. Either way, the EQ2 trolls look much better than that. Pretty sure both those sets are EQ1 though.
The EQ2 trolls(now) have more spiky, troll-ish faces, more normal physical attributes(read: they don't look like disproportionate blobs)

I like a skinny troll and a fat ogre personally.

Good read. I like the poem in it. We need some trolls like this:
troll on left - yes
troll on right - no
I voted for butt scratching!

I voted Other

Agree completely, wouldn't mind a bit of a graphics upgrade, but keep the same general proportions.

Uumm, yuck? If i can't get the thought of troll sex out of my mind and have nightmares, you will be hearing from me.
