Personally I'm cautiously optimistic, only because I already know what SOE won't do. They won't jeopardize their reach to mass market, it's all they've been doing in the last 5 years because they're slipping in the market share. I already have my expectations set pretty low, knowing the game will probably be nothing like what most people here have been dreaming of.
I don't follow your logic. If they've been losing market share by making mmos that try to appeal to the masses, then why would that make it more likely EQN will be a mainstream game?
Anyway, I think the hype will only increase after Friday. I'm sure SOE will promise the world and run down the list of sandbox mmo features we've all been craving, and everything will sound and look amazing. It will only be after we hear about the nitty gritty details and beta reviews start coming in that a real assessment of the game can happen.
Just take a look at Wildstar. Ton of hype surrounding the game and the videos look awesome. People were claiming it's gonna be the next big thing, then the beta reviews started leaking out and suddenly it doesn't sound so impressive.
I have to dissapoint you Germans and Canadians but the best and strongest beers come from Belgium.. We also have the recordvof having the most different types of beer in the world...

All I can say - enjoy these days before the reveal as this is still the time that EQN is the best game on the market. Nothing can beat hopes and dreams many have for EQN right now. After the reveal the hype can only go down.
I disagree, I am being cautiously optimistic, and I am 50/50 prepared for it to be something I have no interest in playing...So if the reveal is something I am interested in playing, even 51%, it will be better!

But I do miss the beer. Alexander Keiths and Rickard's red. Miss those brews so much.
