I want to be a Buccaneer Pirate! :)

in EverQuest Next

If this is truly a Sandbox game, then I want to be a Pirate Buccaneer! I have my character concept, but will I be able to build and own my own ship? A floating house? What about my scurvy pirate crew? I would love to have a sea mage, a sea elf paladin and the rest - perhaps a minotaur first mate? I am hoping my guild HQ is in the basement of a tavern!!

 

If it is truly Sandbox, then this would be possible.

    Norrath is more water than actual land and it would be sad if they just use water as something that walls in the space you play on.

    Personally I wouldn't mind playing the pirate hunter who hunts down those scumbuckets who plunder the merchants of the sea. ;)

    However, it would be fine to me if they added the water content in the first expansion and got the land content just right from launch instead, but not using the water is a big mistake.

    And yeah, a ship would be cool. Particularly a larger guild owned ship. :)

    I have always wanted AIRSHIPS in MMOs ever since I played Skies of Arcadia on Dreamcast.  I think it would be fine so long as you required either tremendous resources or a very large guild.  Anyway, I'm with you on the pirate action.

    Oh, and there should be a RTS like strategy game for crew management on your Smartphone - like a EQN Guild APP!?!! Hey! How cool would that be? If they do it now, I want Royaties!!

    Norrath in EQ1 and 2 is more water than land doesn't mean they can't change the landmass for Everquest Next...

    Although, I totally agree with ships and pirates. I'm actually hoping for something similar to SWG spaceship, but on water. Players could use their own "boat" to transport other players across the seas.

    We could even have underwater stuff now that I think of it. Finding sea treasures. hmm.

    My guess is it not going to be that sandboxish. But maybe I am wrong =-) My guess is the game will be 40-60% sandbox and the rest themepark.

    This reminds me, I hope that EQN brings back Ocean of Tears again. I want islands to explore. Oh, I also want underwater content again as well.

    I agree, it won't be a full sandbox, imo. It will have sandbox features though.

    I have first hand knowledge from Smed himself that there is an area on Norrath that is so dark that you can't see your hand in front of your face even in daylight, and at night .... you can be anything you wish!

    There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein
