So why is the site still effectively down?

If they sold out in about a minute, why has it been almost 7 hours without switching the servers back to normal operation so we can all have a flame fest on the forums? I think everyone has something to complain about on this one. From no realistic ability to get registered to no download to delayed SoG release.

Personally this game has all but dropped off my interest list. I really was hoping it would be a good one, but the list of broken promises is getting long now. I know for a fact that not all that long ago it was said that SoG will be available for everyone to play. Sounds like the Pioneer program is essentially a fund raising "pay to beta test" program.

    To my knowledge, this was a request from Farlan, the publisher, probably for advertising reasons and for easier understanding that the keys were already given out. Tomorrow, the site will be back to its normal operation and the download of SoG will be provided.

    Well, if your brain was only capable of creating spell names such as Disease Inside, im sure you would shut down your message board too in attempts to avoid dealing with an angry community. The sad part is, its more then one brain...

    Ahahah, yeah, that was really funny and amateurish, but the problem was in translation. NPCube handled them the information to be released in French and AD translated them in English.

    From what I've heard, with any reservation if this information is actually true, these skills are still not in beta, but will only be tested the last few days before SoG. Mind, however, that the beta tested product is DnL, not SoG (the latter being developed seperately).

    all of the skill names were retarded, but it was translated from french. translation are never very good in any game.

    The reason the website is still down is the same reason it took them 9 hours to translate 142 words.

    I'm not a fanboy, nor am I someone who is constantly complaining and thinking up conspiracy theories.  Pushing back deadlines and not being able to play at an expected launch date is not new to me.  And, I even told myself this week that I would not expect to play the game tonight so I wouldn't be disappointed.  I absolutely knew I wouldn't be playing tonight.

    However, the past 24 hours is really starting to give me pause.  I mean, it took them so long to translate the manual, which was absurd.  Then, the keys suddenly "sell out" withing 60 seconds, the web site still isn't up, and there's a little sentence saying we can't even play till the 13th.  It's not like they weren't aware that the entire community expected to be able to download and play at least by this weekend and they said absolutely nothing to sway this opinion.

    Conspiracy theory or not, even if this is just bad customer service, it doesn't bode well for customer service in the future.  Even if the game does live up to all the hype, the customer service is obviously severely lacking.

    I've been following the game excitedly, but with caution, the last 3 years.  The events of the past 24 hours seem extraordinarily strange and foreboding to me.  I hope that I'm proven wrong.

    I definitely believe that the 10K spots were aold out in an hour. A couple of my guildies got like 4-5 each. Most of them are to distribute to guildies who themselves did not get a key, but I'm sure you'll find a few keeping a key for their "buff bots" and others seeking to make a profit.

    I sympathize with those who truly have more than one user on one ip, but I think it was a huge mistake to allow more than one key on 1 ip which they initially were not going to allow. This I'm sure has upset a lot of people who've been waiting quite a while for this opportunity. Now I just want to see how many will end up on ebay going for $100+. Oh well...such is nature and the business created...

    What? Getting irritated by "Suckers of Ganareth"?

    Just wait till the 18,881 players see the game on Dec. 13.

    DnL boards will be the most interesting reading for those who are smug and vindictive from Dec. 13 onward.

    Actually, if you look at the French PDF, it's got the SAME "skill names" as the English one. DOn't think they translated much at all.

    Also AD did have the specific "spell names", since in the Q&A thread they referred to them. So they had info they didn't give us. They lied about downloads, release dates.. pretty much everything.

    A- they are skeered

    B- they are trying to figure out a new pack od lies  to try and sell more pioneer acoounts

    C- they took the money and ran off to vegas to gamble it all away while they laugh at the suckers who paid 60 bucks

    Jackdog offer one non-trollish option at least.

    C) There are so many interested people that their server crashed.

    Whether you like it or not, a lot of people love the ideas behind this game and there are a ton of them willing to pay.

    I would leave my forum closed till the 13th... so many people are going to flame them (especially those who took off work) the forums will probably crashimage

    I laughed so hard yesterday after reading the forums and hearing people talk about god slap and such. I could care less about the game now (it's going to be horrible), the forums are my entertainment now. It's too bad they are not up. It's like watching a train wreck.

    damn unfortunatelly i have to agree with you to some degree. i'm really patient and understanding of many things but i'm starting to see red flags that are seriouslly chipping away at my confidence in the developers and the care for their customer base. how hard is it to post a small explanation on a web site? i know SoG is really a bonus game but that doesn't give them the right to ignore our concerns. thats not normal behavior from careing people.

    God slap is good but my favorite is the fact as a bard my special abilities will be "Voodoo" and "relaxation". Good thing I won't have to worry about singing or instruments or anything remotely related to most bards I have ever heard of. I will master the voodoo and my mad relaxation skills and become the leet bard from hades.
