Well someone posted a quote from a dev stating that China had it's own SoG key's aside from everyone else's.So what they're saying is there's going to be 28,881 people in SoG.I call major bs, it wouldn't surprise me if China got first dib's considering there are guilds in China that will be playing with us that're sponsored by Snailgames.10,000 accounts don't go in a matter of seconds.

At 1pm on the dot two friends of mine at work went in and got accepted to SoG. We checked back one minute later and saw that they were gone.

I think the recent addition of all those SWG refugees, plus the fan base DNL already had made them go *very* fast. 10k really isn't that much in a genre that has a few games with a couple hundred thousand players each, and WoW racking up millions of players across the world.

And, since it was 6pm GMT time that they were released, almost all the European fans would have been poised at home ready to snap them up along with everyone in the U.S. and elsewhere ready to try at work.

True, but do you think there is going to be 28,881 people playing SoG, or just 18,881 like they said.If it's 18,881, then China got half for sure.

i can inform that the Dev's told us on Irc that it wasn't an error and it took 1min and 20sec to give out ALL the 10,000 account

they will start the second wave of Free accounts abit after server launch

  • I know my computers time is accurate and the registration was not available 37 seconds after it supposedly launched. According to AD the 10,000 accounts were all registered in 80 seconds, sorry but that timeline doesn't do any justice for me.

I feel sorry for the poor Suckers of Ganaerth that will feel obligated to purchase the next pre-order pioneer wave of accounts, due to the belief of not having a chance to get a free one (impression that they go to fast).

If you think Mourning was a disaster, wait until you see what Alchemic Dream has up its sleeves. There shady business ethics have already become abundantly clear to most of us and the Windex will continue to spray on until this game becomes a laughing stock of the mmorpg market...

But i guess if you enjoy creative spell names like Disease Inside, and constantly being lied to/ripped off, you will enjoy this game.

To be honest I have no idea how the Chinese stuff is really working out.   I've read all sorts of conflicting posts here and at the DNL forums on whether they'll be on same/separate server, whether they have their own 10k entries, etc etc.   All the info I've heard is secondhand, so I just have to shrug at this point.   image

We'll get a better idea what's up once we actually get into SoG (hopefully sooner rather than later!) and get a sense for what the population is like at that point.  I'll just play more WoW in the meantime until it's ready to go...

In the DnL forums before it went down, somone talked to the chinese people coming... I don't know how they do it but AD and Snail are having professional chinese guilds (supposedly not farmers) come and play the game in hardcore mode so they can test the high level content.  As far as I know the chinese guilds will be sharing the world server and helping "test" the world server since it seems western society can't do that...  (I think it's the stereotype that asians really get into the games and will better serve to improve the game.)

I'm really pissed. I was at school arounf 10am PST when they came out and at my lunch(12pm) i went to the library to register and it was closed.

I agree total BS what AD is doing. If they have 10k people register in 1.5minutes, then they better increase the capacity of the server. Thats BS, I been following this game for 1 year and this is how AD treats me.

Second WAVE better not be the same as this "buisness"

    it will be.

or maybe the feedback from those who got one, and who get to see the SoG debacle firsthand, will be so horrible, that it will be MUCH easier to get one in the second wave! lol.. otherwise, i'd plan on being "sick" that day if you really want a key!...
