Is it going to be Open World?

So despite looking too casual and colorful in my opinion, if this game is going to be open world I will play it to see how it turns out, but if there is any kind of instanced content  I am out.

So far, it sounds like there will be no instancing at all.

The word from the panels is that it is totally seamless, no instances, no zones.

Yes, the world has no zones and is all seamless. Similar to Minecraft.

To me, it looks like it plays much like the old Dragon's Lair games.

They also said no camping. The mobs will have AI and move around. and the tunnels/caverns you find will move when an earthquake or some such hit.

Yes it is a seamless open world.

Random Forum Poster: I want an MMO that is different, original and fun.

Me: So you want something like EQN

Them: Nah dude, I want a Holy Trinity, Tab Target combat, Instanced Raiding, and Rigid classes.

    Me: Double Facepalm.

I believe that was in reference to Landmark where you have to claim a spot.

Hmm, odd cause I bought the Dragons Lair game off of Steam about a month ago, and Im pretty sure I didnt see any flashes in EQ:N telling them which way to go or when to use the sword and then pausing while the prerendered animation loads.

    Could be wrong though.

Or could it be I got suckered by a troll post....

It has to be. Multiple instances of the same zone in EQN wouldn't work with perminant change and all lol

I do think some raids and dungeons will be instanced as as well as open world dungeons.  Hoping for 80% open 20% instanced I loved open contested raids in EQ1 but not sure I want to compete like that again.

Dev said no instances. None, nada.  Seamless open world that's what EQNext will be.

With their Heroic Movement system it sounds like it yes. Or alteast dig up into the mountains. Dave said Parkour is coming to EQ so im guessing you can climb and climb.

Not true look back through some of the videos they talked about phasing and what a dungeon instance would be so there are some but overall they don't want a ton of instancing.
