That picture has been sent around in emails occasionally, so if it is fake, its somewhat spread out to some people.

From time to time I look at sites that have pictures of stellar bodies and formations (I dont know the correct terms...) and im just amazed at some of them. It would almost make want to take up astronomy.

I think I seen it too..... I've looked at many NASA (and space related) books. I guess I can take your word for it.

Are you sure that's a real picture?

As far as i know when they take pictures of the universe they have to apply color to it themselves to enhance the picture.....
they use the frequency of the light as a guide but if you were to look out in space (like while inspace) you probably wouldn't see anything like that..... but then again i could be wrong.... about this picture... But i know for sure that most of the pictures of the universe are color enhanced.

not all are enhanced, most likely this one isnt, they only have to color enhance the x-ray, infrared, radio, gamma, ultraviolet, and those types of waves wich are only used to look at (obviously) what we cant see, like black holes, certain exploding stars and stuff like that.

That is a very cool picture BTW.

Lol you should look at the ones that didn't get famous. Some are just not that amazing.
