Re: EQNext
(1) If an end to trinity dependency structures is unacceptable to you, then play something else.
(2) If multi-classing makes you or your character feel unimportant, then play something else.
(3) If F2P models are really such a huge deal, then play something else.
(4) If you don't like the EQN graphics, then play something else.
(5) If you don't like action-based combat mechanics, then play something else.
All these terrible EQN problems solved with the same simple solution

I agree. Also, I don't think trinity will be gone. Since monsters behave differently, characters will too. Different encounters will require different classes to tank. Who knows, maybe we'd see a caster tank for certain mobs. Solid role in place, different mechanics and presentation. I'd think that would be very cool.

But ignorance toward what the devs have stated does not amount to useful feedback. If someone does not understand a dev, and respond, the dev will ignore them, or just explain the same thing again so that we'd understand.
I feel that people complaining about trinity, for instance, will be ignored. Because, it does still exist, just a new approach.
Negativity can be a valid form of information, certainly.
Overly self-involved complaining about a game that is eqnext and not eq3?
Absolutely nothing of value there.
Your comment?
Nothing of value what-so-ever.
It's sad how players stick to the trinity while there are very good (though older) MMORPGs out there that DO NOT use the trinity as strict as EQ/WoW and whatever other themepark you might think off...Yeah, you might need a healer if there are 'fixed' classes, and someone who can tank a raid. But why take a healer and a tank when buffers or even summoners can heal and normal warriors, buffers and even pets from summoners can tank as well?
You guys (most posters here in general) should let go of that holy trinity thinking pattern and think in what ways your character can be useful to a party. I know, some MMORPGs (WoW) make it hard because they have FIXED trinity for dungeons(finder), but that's only to cater the 'casual' player (oh my, I'm gonna get flamed on that remark )
About EQN and no trinity. HELL YEAH! I really DO NOT like the whole trinity as WoW has laid it out and I'd love to make my own parties the way I see fit.

Criticism is good for a game and almost all things, grow up plz.
But, but, but he attacked me when I was low life!
Yes, HE DID, why you cant do the same to him?
Uf that will take me a lot of time...
HERE IS YOUR QUEST!
Its a simple solution that people rarely seem to get. Me likey.
Since when is Tuesday a direction?
Criticism is far different than complaining.
1. There is a "trinity", The roles have been tweaked a bit.
3. This game is a subscribtion based game, with a free Demo without level restrictions. It is not Free to Play, as those games rely on a cash shop to make money, which this game relies on players subscribing to make money. That and the Player Studio, where players make and design in game furniture, houses and other non-gameplay related items to sell to themselves in game or to other players.
I would like to add a 6.) If you just want to play the free version of the game with the objective to try to find something wrong and complain in the forums, instead of actually trying to have fun in a GAME, Go play something else!
From a business perspective, your "Go play something else" mantra would end up leaving you with a small pool of customers and will hurt you in the long run. You don't tell potential or current customers "to leave if you don't like it". That's like commiting financial suicide. But whatever, instead of coming up with real solutions to the issues you just want to erase the criticisers/complainers.
Oh, and complaining is a form of criticism, whether you like how it is done or not. Just watch Gordon Ramsay, a very successful businessman and his take on negative comments over positive comments from customers. He practically could care less about the positive comments, he wants to hear the complaints because that's where the issues in his business are and may need to be fixed.
Indeed, the simplest solution is to ignore issues and quit rather than try to solve them.
Some of us prefer to not always take the "simple solution" and instead to work on getting the best solution.
Also, technically, the problems with EQN aren't "solved" by not playing it. They're still there, you just don't care as much. It's the whole "tree falls in the forest" thing.

You are a consumer. You have choices.
Personally, I find the notion that SOE spent millions designing a next generation game without any substantive market or marketing research laughable. This is a company that swims in data, both primary and secondary. To assume that these incredibly expensive decisions have been made in a vacuum reveals both a remarkable ignorance of the marketing process as well somewhat immature and narcissistic world view on the part of those who assert knowledge about things they do not actually have.
If folks want to criticize game play features they don't enjoy, I have no issues with that. However complaining about core game attributes of this game that are not going to change, and that have not even been tested with actual game play , that is ridiculous.
We have choices. This game is not eq or eq2 on the new engine and with new content, and SOE has NEVER asserted this. This game is an attempt to change the landscape and offer something different.
If folks want what they've been playing, keep playing those games. Last I checked, EQ and EQ2 weren't going anywhere.
My god!
How the hell did some of you guys make it to this point?
Seriously. You don't like the Trinity, you don't like quest hubs, you don't like classes, You don't like complicated action bars, you don't like leveling , gear grinds, treadmills, subscriptions, raiding, instancing/zones, non action combat and god knows the list of MMORPG mechanics you don't like grows every time someone else "This is a problem with traditional MMORPGs"
Why on earth did some of you guys stick around for a decade and a half in a genre where you hated everything about it?
