I realize that this has been posted many times before, but I felt like I had to... I recently quit WoW because I felt it was too 'kiddish,' even though I am only 16 and still considered a kid. I enjoyed FFXI a lot in the fact that you had to group, however, you couldn't really solo anything if you only had a few minutes, and, the fact that it took sometimes hours to find a party, so I quit.
I want to know if EQ2 is good for me - The WoW community bothered me to no end, so I'm hoping the EQ2 community will be more mature. The fact that grouping was rare besides instances in WoW also discouraged me from continuing the play, because I like interacting with other people in groups.
My question is, and I realize that this forum will be biased towards EQ2 generally... but my question is, is EQ2 the game for me? I like grouping, but I want to at least have the option to solo in case I can't bring a group, which brings another question, are groups easy to find in EQ2? I'd probably want to be a fighter class, if that changes anything. That is pretty much everything, thanks a lot for your time and your opinions.

it is an extremly fun game quests are good plently of differnt places to go as you advace through the game, i think its fun weather u r a high level or not. but at least after lvl 18 it is really good, the graphics are absolutly amazing i upgraded to a radion X1300 512mb which runs the graphics on the highest settings practically lag free.
if ur pc allows get this game but do have a gd graphics card, and some decent ram ect

Well if your after a more mature community then EQ2 is the place.
As far as your question, getting groups isnt hard especially around peak play times. Also soloing is not a problem, ive done it up to lvl 49 thus far.
get it get it get it.
EQ2 is graphically sweet, community friendly, quest rich ( Ive done 1080 so far) and diverse enough to keep you interested. use the Eq2 forums to help decide on what class you want tplay depending on whether you wish to solo or not. A guardian, berserker, monk and assassin are good solo classes.
To err is human....to play is divine
Groups are easy to find if you play on a roleplayer sever (I'm told). If you enjoy grouping you'd like EQ2, just make sure you pick the Antonia Bayle server so you'll have enough people to group with.
If you're going to go fighter, I'd make the suggestion that you consider Monk -- it'll pay off when you start looking for a raiding guild.
I too used to play FFXI and really liked it but there were some things that made me quit. If you liked the idea of FFXI I would go for EQ2, its got everything FFXi does but more.
If I were you I would try and look for a guild that has members around your level, it makes the game easier and much more fun. And dont let anyone tell you this is a bad game, it is the best one out there of its kind.
The only real problem I have with this game is the lack of cool looking armor, though the armor does look good and all its just a bit generic. They need to add some armor for each class kinda like daoc's epic armor.
Wow, things have certainly turned around on the EQ2 forums. Hats off to En1gma and the staff.
Definitely get EQ2 if you enjoy fantasy based MMO games that have a challenge. Now, they did get rid of shards, thus making it easier, but I found shards not to be a challenge, more of an annoyance. Now, if they made you get your corpse after dying, that would be a challenge.
Find a good guild and EQ2 will be a game you won't forget.
I would suggest EQ2 definitely, but I've played up to 3 60's and 4 60 TS'ers so I've gotten all I can out of the game. The community ROCKS and 99% of the players are very mature, get into a good family-oriented guild at first for leveling up, then if you feel like it around 55+ try and get in some raiding guilds! This is a great game with tons of content, I've just bored myself out of my mind because I've done pretty much everything in the game :P but, thats my own fault!
