After much personal debate i find myself drawn to changing from WoW to FF11. Only thing holding me back is the lack of any PVP in FF. Is there any plan to implement this in the future as either some sort of duelling areana or an area of mass pvp? It sort of fun tot ake a break from killing npc mobs and taking on the challenge of taking on an actual human player. Any feedback on this would be helpful.

So there are no pks?
Not very many, and none legally. It is possible to kill another player by training monsters on them. This is called MPK (Monster Player Kill). It's against the TOS and can get your account cancelled if the GMs have convincing evidence you engaged in it.
The newest update (due to be put in place the day after tomorrow, as a matter of fact) makes MPK much more difficult by making a monster pulled to a different location disappear when the player that pulled it dies or zones out. It also changes the behavior of Bound monsters (Bind is a debuff that prevents the subject from moving) so that they no longer attack whatever is in range but restrict themselves to the players they were engaged with (and do nothing if those players are not in range).

What is there to do in a game that doesnt have pvp??? :S
Plenty, IMHO. If you're of the opinion that the only interesting thing in an MMORPG is PvP, that's your right, and FFXI probably isn't the game for you. But plenty of us enjoy crafting, PvE, questing and exploring with PvP relegated to scheduled matches.
