I would like to extend a big thanks to the people at NewEgg.com that made this all possible.  I always have viewed them as a great company whom I buy all my computer goodies from - but having them do this for us makes them all the more amazing!  w00t!

    Actually our last 2 contests were open to the world (Endless Ages and EQ Evolutions)...this will be the third.  Then only one we usually can't do outside North America is the beta slots...and that is up to the game companies...

    You have to remember a few things.  One,  we aren't made of money,  two, we are still a very new site... I believe a little more then a year old.

    I would be happy if I could win a FREE anything. :)

    It is very simple, you can do one of two things.  You can either:

    a. Go to the main page at mmorpg.com and click on the contest ad and then fill out the form.
    b. Click here! and then fill out the form.

    well from my point of view is almost imposible to win one of the contests, i have been here for a long time and joined almost every single one except the betas, and still i don´t win, i see that the odds are against everyone, since most ppl register to the site, are not active and only want is the contest, so for all the ppl that are here almost everyday and is active, is like unfair

    I think starting with our next contest we are going to do it a little differently:

    • The site will log how many days you logged into the site (multiple logins in a single day will be ignored)
    • You will get one "raffle ticket" per day you visited the site, giving you a max of 30 or so tickets (depending on how many days the contest runs)
    • We will put all the tickets in the generator and draw.  The more tickets you earned the greater your chances.

    This would increase the odds for dedicated users, but still not make it a shoe-in for them.  It would still of course be possible, but much less likely for someone who only came to the site once to win.  It would also prevent people from spamming the forums thinking that would help their odds.

    yep - from the day the contest starts until the day it ends.  Example:

    Contest starts Oct 1, 2003 and ends Oct 20, 2003.  Total possible raffle tickets: 20

    Make sense?

    wow thats some impressive sh*t, sorry for the word but is the one taht could say it best, is a realy great system, but make it also that for a person to have the ticket, he must atleast post like i don´t know  2 times, becuase a perosn outside can easily get in the contest and just drop by, login and then say bye bye for the day

    That's ok - I don't really want to involve the forums.  There is more to the site than forums.  If people drop by and read the news, check the game list review a couple games and pop in the chat rooms for a few minutes I would say they are helping out the site a lot...and they never entered the forums.

    If people would go through all the work of coming to site site every day, they have done enough.  Honestly I don't think that will be a whole lot of people doing this in a dishonest fashion and many won't even catch this bit stated in the contest rules...so it will still help the dedicated members a lot in their contest winning odds.

    The only thing I might consider doing is tracking to make sure that they viewed at least 2-3 pages during the day...but I really don't want to create a massive datalogging campaign over it.

    Well, I do agree with the people who actually stop in on this site to talk in chat or on the boards, insted of just registering for contests. Now, I may not post as much as some people *cough* MurtBijani *cough*. Yet, I do try and be active to see all the new posts and read the reviews, but when I keep seeing these people i've never even seen on the boards or chat, it kinda makes me mad. Flame me if you wish; i'm just expressing my opinion.

    We try to stay away from "post count" awardings if you haven't noticed.   So being active on the forum will really not increase your chances of anything, our system currently being designed for "titles" is not even based on "post count", but rather a number of things.  We plan to make our website here very unique and innovative as we progress month by month and personally I am impressed with the amount of great people we have visiting us here everyday, not to mention what we have in store for you in the future!  I would just like to take a moment of silence and thank the Community for making MMORPG.COM a first stop source on the internet!  ( Thank You! )
