    wow...talk about your stereotyping.

I happen to know TONs of Brits who like Robin Williams, Ceech Marin, Richard Pryor, Jim Carrey, Tim Allen, Bill Cosby, Eddie Murphy, Bill Murray, etc. Just because you're British doesn't mean you dont know who American comedians are and vice versa.

I happen to like Rowan Atkinson, Charlie Chaplain, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Michael Palin, Terry Gilliam and other British comedians.

Poor Richard. He doesn't deserve to be just "some guy" being remembered on an internet PC gaming forum...

Before this thread goes down in flames, I gotta say, we'll all miss you, Richard. You crazy nigger.

I still remember his special, "I ain't dead yet!" Such a great comedian. And at a rather young age, he will be missed.

He would have lived longer if he didn't touch the drugs and ended up shaking like a lawnmower running over gravel.

But, I have good news. I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to Geico.

Professor Hubert Farnsworth - That question is less stupid but, you asked it in a profoundly stupid way.

This guy was a funny man. I wonder if he died by his drug addiction? It's weird though becuase VH1 (or was it Comedy Central) was showing alot of his classic stand ups and talking about him...like he did kinda diedimage.

Isn't his wife white. I think I saw her on tv but I didn't know if that was his wife or just a very close friend.

    I'm going to miss him.image

Man I can't tell is this was made out of sheer nastyness or if he didn't know any betterimage

Richard Pryor was the greatest! It rare nowadays to experience great "tell it like it is" comedians. I mean dave chapple is funny but he was never that damn funny like Richard Pryor was. Man..who will fill this void now? last person even close to this was Eddie Murphy but next thing ya know hes in kid shows as a donkeyimage

richard prior was a pioneer in stand up comedy, guys like eddie murphy, martin Lawrence, eddie griffin, cedric the entertainer, and bernie mack all owe their career's to this man. he was the first black comedian to "let it fly" so to speak in his stand up shows, i owe my childhood to this man.....rest in peace bro ::::16::

  • He really raised the bar and did some gutsy things in his time. Some of his stuff might even seem tame by today's standards, but back when he started it was jaw-dropping. He had the drug problems but he also had MS...and setting himself on fire trying to smoke crack that one time didn't help, but at least he could tell jokes about it. That was really the best thing about the man, the way he could take horrible things and turn them into comedy, it helped bring positive attention to them.

My favorite Richard Pryor moment was on SNL with Chevy Chase, playing word association at a job interview:

    Chase: "Jungle Bunny."
    Pryor: "Honkey!"
    Chase: "Spear Chucker."
    Pryor: "....Honkey Honkey!"
    Chase: "Nigger!"
    Pryor: "Dead Honkey!"
