I just looked at the game list and charted down the number of games I've played - it's 32. I've also played trials on 3 games - WoW, DAoC and EVE. I was done with most of the games after 2-3 weeks. This is what I've learned about myself: 1) I don't do well with games where you constantly chase gear; 2) I love games with a high probability of failure.....ie you have to learn to work with specific people to accomplish anything. This also means the game has to have defined roles - games where every toon can do everything doesn't work for me; 3) I need active combat w/ dodging like GW2.
I feel like I've just described a game that no company wants to make. I think I'm in the smallest of small niche markets. Are my 3 expectation strange? Should I be happy that a game has 2 out of 3?
Here is an example of what I mean. At one point I loved GW2. It was everything I wanted In a game until I realized number 2 was never going to happen for me. Success in GW2 is very easy to attain and no one ever needed me specifically to accomplish anything. I have never received a whisper or any chat of any kind requesting my specific skill set. I know there are things you can do in GW2 that are challenging, so please don't attack me on that point.

Ironically, sPvP in GW2 actually has roles unlike it's PvE content, has the combat style you prefer and if you're good enough, people WILL be asking you to join their team.
But this all depends on if you like pvp.
Nah, you are not alone. I can not find anything worth playing for me at the moment. I really wish ANet would have just revamped the GW1 movement system and kept all the other good systems from GW1, but they did not do that so I guess I will wait for another company to produce a group-based RPG game that plays like a CCG.
The EQ: Next skill system sounds pretty cool though; the ai system sounds great too. I just hope they can get a lot of it done by launch, but we will see.
PS
If you find good game that focuses on grouping from level 2+ like GW1 let me know; I am tired of solo gaming all these multiplayer games.
