Guild Wars 2: Cryptic Hints at Trouble During the Queen's Speech on 8/20

We received a message from ArenaNet in the mail today concerning the upcoming Queen's Speech update due to hit on August 20th. A pocket watch with a Guild Wars 2 engraving and a cryptic poem hint at something catastrophic about to happen when Queen Jennah gives her speech next week.

Here's the poem in its entirety:

Tick tock goes the clock

It's almost time for time to stop

Something you all must understand

Your world is built on fog and sand

 

You're out of time, your jig is done

It's time for Scarlet to have her fun

She has some hard lessons to teach

To the people of Divinity's Reach

 

So mark the date in permanent ink

The hour is later than you think

On the twentieth day she'll start her games

And warm her hands over Kryta's flames!

It also looks as though the GW2 Queen's Speech update page has been vandalized by this Scarlet or her followers.  Stay tuned next week for news on just what this update will bring to Divinity's Reach.

    Ah, I get it now. So, ArenaNet sends you guys gifts to write about them or what ?

    Actually, A.Net sent this package to a lot of people from major fansites (GW2guru) to MMO sites (Massively, MMORPG.com).  They did the same thing with Dragon Bash and Mad King Thorn's Halloween.   They do these cryptic pieces to help broadcast an in-game event as well as to garner publicity for said events.   It works, so that's that.

     

    Please let them FINALLY reveal Scarlet so that I can know the face behind the name.   Pretty please?

    I hope we finally meet Scarlet and she could be someone of importance I think at least. Not the queen though.

    I don't think it can be anyone from the Personal Story, because of the weird relationship PS and LS have. He being good in the PS and evil in LS would confuse the newbies.

    A lot of companies do this. I remember Trion sent a big box of stuff hinting at features in the Rift expansion.
