Open Beta Client Patching is live!

Square Enix is now allowing us to patch the new client and install the Open Beta.
Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing). German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century. Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now). I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things). In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while. If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.
Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this. If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own. Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis. Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.

Ughh.. Greenmangaming says they aren't issuing anything for preorder codes until the 20th which means no patching/installing until then ><

Do you have a SE account? You should be able to just log in and download the client. Many here have said they have been able to even when they were not in beta. Then again they could have been lying lol.
yeah i do, but it won't let me "add" FFXIV ARR as a game there. I have it added on the FFXIV official site ok, but for some reason it won't let me on the SE site. Don't get it.
Did you download the patcher and try logging in there with your SE account?

Yeah, I've had the patcher installed and ready to go. But when I log in, it asks for the preorder code, which I don't have. I sort of assumed the code GMG sent me WAS the preorder code, but I guess not.
You should be able to sign up when they open registration on the 17th.
With regards to the FFXIV pre-order code, you should contact your gamespot for one. If they don't relinquish it, then go down there and ask for it. If they still don't, then just cancel the pre-order and the pre-order it again from either them or from a trusted site online (maybe even a gamespot at a different location).
It should be on the receipt when they hand it to you.
If you weren't a part of the previous Beta Tests then the sign ups for Open Beta will likely be on the 17th (if you didn't sign up previously and get a key from Square Enix).
We can't just patch our old client? Opening that launcher says cannot verify something or another. gotta download whole thing again?
If that be the case, where do we download the new one?

At the moment, we, who didnt test the game yet, are fucked and have to wait a day or two to register and even download the game... gg.
There's a new client download on their beta test forum site.
If you have registered before July 31st just wait for your beta key. If you have not the 17th they are reopening registration. Cross your fingers you get in.

You need to enter your pre-order codes before July 31st. They are reopening registration on the 17th. You can enter your codes then.
Yeah, after going through all the steps again and looking more carefully, I'm seeing that the code GMG sent out was merely to apply the preorder items to the account, not the actual game itself. Those codes aren't going out until the 20th, and beyond that I guess some of us will just be waiting until beta registration opens again. lol, by the time I get it downloaded beta will probably be over!

I don't think pre-order codes have anything to do with beta. Open beta was open by itself before July 31st. They said it'll reopen again on the date of the beta (i.e., the 17th). Whether you preordered or not shouldn't be relevant. That's for early access.
