There will obviously be very large creatures that are the size of a building that need to be vanquished. Not sure of the scale of all big mobs since we only saw one huge Iron Golem in EQ Next presentation video. I know that EQ should maybe have dragons and they may be bigger than an Iron Golem. Also there were the Gods in previous EQ and they are a part of the mythos, so they could turn up and be quite large as well.
And of course there are giants, in EQ as well. So yes. We should see big mobs. Now how EQ classes battle such mobs is the question. Should there be a grappler style class that uses chains or ropes or other mechanisms to possibly engage a large mob in a way we haven't seen in previous EQ's? maybe....maybe not. I won't get my hopes up at all for this style play though to be honest. I would settle for the targetable area style though and I think that is totally doable with this technology. This would basically be waiting for the mob to move in such a manor as to expose it's weaker spots and then you shoot, slash, kick, fire...etc at that location for the time it is available until the mob moves again and wait for the next opportunity.
This mechanic could go so far as to have players have to use environmental assistance to help expose a weakness as well.

I don't care if the mobs are graphically big. I am talking about fights that take a large group to fight.
Yea that isn't ever going to happen sadly. It'll just be a zerg like GW2, they made it clear that its going to "scale with the amount of players", dead giveaway.

But conversely, not everyone who plays mmo's wants to watch their characters slowly wack away at some monster's feet while they press the appropriate buttons at the appropriate times.
If that's your argument it does go both ways.
