Had a hard time finding an answer through Square Enix websites, so maybe someone here knows.
I've preordered and received my confirmation email, so everything seems fine in regards to that, however the charge for the preorder showed pending on my bank account, and now has disappeared completely (bank account shows no purchase).
Will the charge go through at the time the game is released (27th) or did something muck up somewhere?
Still trying to get a hold of Square Enix to figure this out.

I just went through the "official" site because I just figured that was the "safest" thing to do.
I'm not exactly eager to just go and make another purchase, because I don't know if the charge will suddenly reappear again and I don't want to have paid twice for something that I only meant to purchase once.
If it is just a preorder and not a prepurchase they will charge you when they ship or if electronic, you will be charged when game goes live or becomes active for you if there is any kind of head start.
That is typically what happens on preorders. The pending you had was probably just to make sure the credit card worked.
Any graphical, audio, or gameplay restrictions not seen in other mmos but found in FFXIV can be blamed on one thing.

Where did you purchase yours from?
Bought 2x digital CE pre-orders on the 8th of August from the SE North America web store. Charge was showing as pending for a few days, now it's disappeared off the statement and never went through. Guess it will go through when the game actually releases, or when we're able to DL for headstart.
As long as we get our CE items, pre-order items, and early access, I'm not going to complain.
I've read the responses of several folks on this site saying its normal to be screwed up.
I don't like that at all.
Something as simple as a purchase transaction should be infallible, especially if you are a tech company the size of SE. Any 1st yr flunkie intern should be able to write a transaction app and it work 100% of the time.

Yeah I can understand that viewpoint. Anytime I've pre-ordered a game in the past, the charge has gone through right away. Not sure why this purchase is any different.
I'm not about to risk re-purchasing and getting 4 copies of the game for me and my wife, so I'll just have to be patient and hope SE gets it all worked out in the next week or so.
