What are the ways to specc your char in this game, are there talent trees or skill points or something?

    No talent trees or skill points, instead you unlock skills by leveling. Unlike other mmo's in ffxiv you can play as any class at any time. With this system once you hit a certain level with certain classes their abilities can roll over and become available for other classes. Also once you meet the requirements you can pick a specialized roll known as a "job".

    eg. Leveling a gladiator to 30, then a conjurer to 15 you can become a paladin.

    You get stat points that you can place but there are only a couple logical choices for each class/job :P.
