A good MMORPG game?

roxas46roxas46 Member Posts: 3

So I used to play Rohan Online for a while, And I stopped for about a year, and I wanted to go back to it.. But it's just too damn expensive, to be OP in the game, you gotta spend more than 4,000$ on the game. And that's A LOT. Anyways I'm wondering if there's a game similar to that, which doesn't cost a ridiculous amount to reach the top? or at least not be a one-hit.

Reasons why I loved Rohan:

-Leveling was through grinding, not quests : I hate doing quests, I just want to find a good grinding spot, and just grind for a few hours (obv with a pt).

-Really good pvp : I liked all the guild wars, Township battles, Random pvps, Zergs, and etc.

-Variety of choices : 7 races, Each race can choose one of two classes, and each class has at least 2-3 different type of "character". exm : Str Guardian, Dex Guardian, Hybird Guardian.

-Best point of all, Community : The community was just amazing, I could just sit there and talk to people all day long. Within guilds/party chats and so on. Even on the forums, If one needed help people would easily help out, Just 2 days ago a person that I don't even know sat down for 3 hours, Explaining what's new with the game and what has changed since i left.

That's why I really loved it, I tried playing : Tera, LoL, WoW, Aion, Guild wars, Dota, and a few others that I can't remember atm, But the community was just awful... like 99% of the chats were : 1) WTB bla bla, 2)WTS bla bla, or.. 3)YOU ^%@KING NOOB! LEARN HOW TO PLAY FA%%OT!.

Is there a game out there, that would be suitable for me? judging from all the things i've mentioned here?

Thanks :) Looking forward to the replies.

lol.      The point of a MMORPG since the 90's was to party with some friends and have fun.  Being OP was a collective effort, not just one player.   I'm guessing that is why most MMORPG are failing these days because people want to be OP and leave the MMO part out of the equation. Which I really don't understand.   Why play a MMORPG if your only goal is to be OP and being able to do stuff that requires 4-5 people by yourself?   I always laugh out loud when I see people putting thousands on a game to be OP but a few weeks later the "friends" they've made online to play with have left for another MMO.   The term MMORPG has gone a long way since the early  90's up until recent years.  And I for one will like to see online games where you create your own room, invite your buddies to play with, be it 10 to 20 people and having a blast while grinding / PvP.   Being OP will always be a collective effort and no amount of money will ever change that.

I am glad you asked. A lot of people don't seem to understand why some play MMOs at all.

I made a whole thread just to answer this question, at least from MY perspective.

I have the same taste as you and I stumbled across darkfall after posting a lf game. Its everything your asking for, there is a bit of negative posts on some of the forums but that's due to the developer making a new game out of the old one and a lot of old players were unhappy...

Its a subscription based game so you won't pay anymore

Yeah, It's really fun playing with my friends for months, then 1 player can just come and wipe all of us in "one-hit".

And why are you hating on me? And on the idea? Everyone enjoys different things, everyone is different. You make like to play with your friends and don't care much for the game as long as you guys are having fun, well good for you. As for me, Just how in Playstation 3, When I play a game, I play till I get the platinum, Or finish the game 100%. And for me, being OP in an online player, means reaching the final boss and beating the game. We have different opinions, In my opinion, I don't see a point in playing an MMORPG game, If I'm not aiming for the top, Why would I play so hard then? I have to have a goal don't I? And that's my goal.

I respect that you have a different opinion on this, and you should've respected mine by either giving me a name of a game that answers my question, and if not, then you should've just kept your comments to yourself.

    You literally described Darkfall.

No quests, just grind. Best open world PvP out there. Only Eve can get better in open PvP.
