I have no idea how people got that far so fast... Have you been skipping cutscenes and all the quest text?
I kept stopping to smell the flowers and explore a bit and my only jobs for this beta are:
Arcanist 17
Culinarian 11
I also did some of fishing quests but my 1.0 character had fishing at 20 already so got no exp for it.
Oh, and I work Sundays.
For my part, I had already played in 2 beta weekends, so I had a better idea of how things go. I didn't skip the cutscenes though ... I set my audio language version to Japanese, had a blast going over the storylines with Jap audio with subtitles like an old school console JRPG.
I wish beta could have been longer though.. Play time was cut short with the volunteer work I do on Sundays, only played half day on Saturday. Oh well, at least early access is less than a week away.
if i have an account with the orginal ff14 ce on it, how do i got about playing the ARR update. theres pretty much nothing on the official site explaining this, except that we will get ARR for free, but no when, or if we get 30 days, or if our old shit will be in ARR other then moogle mail of ce items.
With the time I had, Monk to 17. Would have liked more time to get another character and some crafting done but I am happy with my progress and I didn't rush, I took my time, looked around, explored, read the quests and even wandered into an area of level 46 monsters that one hit killed me.
17 Marauder. Had a busy weekend planned, cut in to my FFXIV time.
Oh well, I don't plan on rushing through the game and leveling anyways. I was also one to watch every cutscene and read every dialogue box, so that may have slowed me down a little.
I was only able to play an hour Friday cause I went out of town and it took an hour to be able to make a character on the server I wanted... and I think I screwed up a couple of things in character creator, so I'm just going to re-make my main.
But I got her to level 2! lol
I also tooled around Sunday on another server (I couldn't log into first server due to being full) and got another toon to level 5 or so.
For those of us who have the 3102 infliction what did you accomplish? And for those lucky many still able to login and play, what have you been able to level up and achieve thus far?
Trying to see how people are handling the leveling in this game and what they're using their time on.
MRD 20, GLD 12, CONJ 10, ARCH 10, LNC 10, PUG 10
- You have no idea how fun killing squirrels is until you do it about 100 times.
I took leatherworker to level 30 in beta 2 and armorsmith to 30 in beta 3. I never had gil. This time I figured I'd hold off on that and level some "subs" for PLD at 30.
Arc 17, Thm 3, Min 12, Fish 10, cul.....oh ffs, I just did a lot of crafting, I don't remember all the levels. LOL
I got Lancer to 17, and all the other War and Magic classes between 5 and 10 except Gladiator.
I got all 3 gathering skills to 10 or 12.
And I got 3 crafting skills to 10-11, and the other 5 between 5-10.
I didn't have Gil problems - I had inventory problems! Sunday I was fighting to keep slots 95-100 open most of the day. There was a lot I could dump if I had to, but I didn't want to throw away all my fish and food and the building-block crafted items. I thought 100 spaces would be plenty with the Armory chest, but I found a way to fill them up, heh.
I was strugging with Gear Set management for a while but I finally got it organized.
I never got any of the login errors, lucky me.
I'd say the best moment of my weekend was pulling the HQ Princess Trout out of the water first try. Take that RNG!
Nothing happened that turned me off of the game - I really shouldn't like it so much, but I do. Maybe it'll get old in three months, but for now it's still a lot of fun.
Got to level 13 on my main and so did my wife. Would have gotten a lot higher if we had not spend hours trying to get into the game and sometimes we just flat gave up. You know its bad when you cant even get a Q to get into your sever lol. Looking forwards to head start and all the free players that kept playing and filling general chat with how much they hate the game. If ya hate it stop playing!!!
It comes down to a similar price then WoW and other pay to play model but for 1 character if you want another one ( a alt ) then you need to pay another 3.00$ or 300 Crysta per month to play it.
Again this is the original Final Fantasy 14 price. It could change in ARR.
Personally I think the leveling needs to be massivly slowed down (at least by 50%) especally if people can hit 20 on mutiple jobs in a day or so, FF14 does not have much for endgame so leveling fast this early in the game is just going to hurt the title more than anything I'd think.
I just got Mrd 17, few other jobs lv 5-7, all classes unlocked etc. Started playing the 18th and just took my time, no point to rushing to level cap when there is not much avail to do there right now.
Being a pessimist is a win-win pattern of thinking. If you're a pessimist (I'll admit that I am!) you're either:
A. Proven right (if something bad happens)
or
B. Pleasantly surprised (if something good happens)

well, if it is someth like in 1.0, leveling speed goes down after 25 and then the more you progress iirc

I got to lv 15 as an Arcanist, lv 5'ish Lancer and Archer.
I would have gotten further but I got hit with the 3102 bug and missed an entire day because of it.

20 Conjurer, 12 Weaver, 9 Gladiator, 9 Fisher,
Not much I compared to a lot in this thread. But whatever, still a nice amount of progress.

Sadly didn't have much time at all to play.

Avatars are people too
I hope you guys do understand the payment option in this game is very different from other mmorpg right?
Basic Service Fee :
30 days = $6.99 (or 699 Crysta)
90 days = $17.97 (or 1,797 Crysta)
180 days = $29.94 (or 2,994 Crysta)
---------------------------------------------------
Then add the character fee's per month : $3.00 (or 300 Crysta)
---------------------------------------------------

Again this is the original Final Fantasy 14 price. It could change in ARR.
Saw the extension and went back for more. Might go kill more on Marauder till server shutdown.
